So just for clarification, it's allowed?

I think it's fine. It's the same thing as selling an Xbox on eBay.

It is software though not hardware. And this is Europe.

I don't think that really changes my mind. As a guy who makes money from eBay, I see no problem with it.

As long as they're not claiming it's their software, that is.
In that case, that's just wrong.

Good decision. To summarize a post made on a much better forum relayed to me by Vorn:
It's time the video game industry grew up and acted like everyone else. If you buy a lamp, table, or refirgerator nothing stops you from reselling it. The same should be true of games.

That's why Blizzard entertainment and some other companies who make pc games use cd keys. It can't prevent piracy,but it does prevent the resale of an old game in many cases.
