The Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3 Discussion Thread.

Wow, epic scan, I'm happy I can talk to all you lot again now for real, because the game is real and happening.
What I got from the scan, apologies if I repeat anything already discussed:
-9 Tails battle with the Third could mean the game begins from Part 1, which, if it does, would be completely and utterly awesome, in my opinion
-It looks like we still only have 2 health bars, I'd still like 3
-The Artwork of Minato has 2 giant circles underneath it, what are those?
-The sub bar is with us once again, great, I hope cancels are still here too
-The title artwork pretty much confirms that the Konoha 11 will all have a new costume for their part in the war (Very nice design for the title too, I like having everybody there instead of the usual Naruto or Naruto-Sasuke duo)
-The 5 Kage are there in the title too, hopefully they get some sort of upgrade or something (Gaara will most likely be brand new, Raikage hopefully as well, he could wear his Kage Cloak thing with one arm lol. Tsunade definitely needs an upgrade though

Judging from Generations, I am expecting an announcement for US and European release at the beginning of July, along with a teaser trailer a little before those announcements. We should also be getting another scan next week hopefully, but we are lucky enough to get this for the time being. Hopefully they are able to work a release date that is closer in date than Generations was, because I know for some people that wait was horrible, and so I can't imagine the rage that would ensue if Storm 3 had that much of a wait.

Speaking of rage, I wonder if the Sound 4 will be playable this time. I mean, if they are going to include the PTS characters this time around then they probably will make them playable, as CC2 said that they would implement them in future games, however if it is only TS characters, then they have a lower chance of making it. I am hoping out of the edo tensei's, at least all of the Kage, Kin-Gin,

Mangestsu, and Hanzo are playable. As for people on the Shinobi forces side, I hope for Darui, maybe Mifune, Kurotsuchi and Kitsuchi. If the manga ends within the next year, then the anime can follow suit pretty quickly, considering how fast the anime can catch up to the manga. So if the game is released in the winter, then we will probably see the whole manga, but at least the whole war.

Hm. I'm not sure, the rate the manga is going at I wouldn't be surprised if it ended later this year, and by that time the anime will be pumping along just fine.

That's basically all of them, and all the ones I care about, lol.
It would also be awesome to then add a Zetsu soldier as a single character, and give us the ability to have him select himself as a support, because there are loads of them.

I agree with the Impact style. That is the only way I can see this war working out in a game format. Choose a character and run around killing thousands of Zetsus and occasionally face a resurrected opponent.

Plus, I pray that the Sound 4, Kurenai, Anko and Shizune (Perhaps with even a costume swap for Shizune for the war) are all in this game! I know it's a big ask, but it's Storm 3, not Storm 2.5.

i would like them too keep all the current costumes as alternates the roster would look too similar if it was only war flak jackets and edo akatsuki.

while on costumes lets see if they finally get juugo out of those prison pjs lol

guessing it is too late for all taka to have akatsuki outfits seeing as it's passed that point
and that their only focus is anything after the pain ark

as for move sets most of the akatsuki haven't shown any thing new in the manga appart from nagato going crazy with power which is going to be really kl to see in game (is that vague enough not to be in some form of spoiler thing).

would the first and second hokage be back in the game????

Hey guys I'm kinda late on this discussion but I have and idea for the multiple jutsus thingy, First of all let me say we don't need 5 jutsus LOL, I think executing them in a different way is way too complicated :P We have currently 3 buttons free to do whatever they please with them (that's R3, L3 and select) So one of those could change the jutsu and you just execute it normally, I think it's simple and is a good way to have a minimum of 2 jutsus. Tell me how you think about this.

whether characters have shown anything new or not they can easily invent their moveset theve done it before after all many times. There only limited by their creativity in the end.

agreed, i was just putting a few things out their that came to mind.

the holy grail of storm games would be for them to give every character new moves, jutsus etc that is one thing i hope they do regardless of character advancement.

Hmm... I'm not sure about that. I think it'll still be carrying on from Storm 2, and that part will most likely be a part of Minato flashback like they did in the anime.

Those 2 balls under Minato's artwork looks very interesting! They could be jutsu? or something special like in Storm 1 when with Tsunade you could use Gamabunta and Katsuyu.

Also, I noticed all health bars look like Boss health bars o.o

sage of the six paths could be a possible playable boss fight if they ever get round to showing him vs juubi. now that would be worth the wait in it's own right.

Remember in Storm 2 when you were fighting Sasuke and they had a little flashback and you fought as PTS Naruto for a while? It had a color filter, to make it look flashbacky, I think they would have done the same if The Third vs Kurama was a flashback, and even if it is, it doesn't mean it still can't be from the beginning to the end. In the ultimate ninja series, the number 3 game was the best, with the free roaming and side missions that weren't so boring. So I'm placing my bet on Storm 3 to be the ultimate Storm game.

Yeah they just can't be lazy, at least from the start of shippuden, if it starts from where storm 2 left off it's gonna be disappointing

why would it be dissapointing? weve played through all that stuff before we dont need to do it again. it will carry on from where storm 2 left off since its a direct sequel this time rather than the filler game that was generations.

I think it's way too early for anyone to get disappointed, lol. Keep in mind we have all jumped right into the discussion and this game's legitimate announcement isn't even a day old yet.
It's highly likely we have a lot to expect, because the game is new, but to be realistic I wouldn't bank on anything currently happening in the anime to show up first.
Generations did not include the Turtle Island arc at all, and this game will most likely include that so probably expect reveals centered around that point first.
Hopefully we get some nice new Turtle Island levels, maybe the training area, and perhaps a new Rain Village level for Konan's face off against Tobi. Hopefully they can flesh out the Kage Summit Arc too, because Generations was not exactly top notch in explaining the story.

I guess that's where the "more profound story" thing comes into play. I did really enjoy the cut scenes of Generations, it would be nice if they used them again but I severely doubt it.

As for more in-depth combat, I hope that doesn't mean some new bar is implemented, like limiting the amount of times we jump or something silly.

the stage list is starting to grow quite a bit i hope they remove double stages to make room should they find them selves with lack of space on the stage select.

omg we might have a all water stage from the Konan vs Tobi battle...that boss battle will be amazing im sure. There wasnt one in storm 2 that i disliked.

im curious to see how her paper sea bomb will be as her UJ since theres stages that just have ground so will it spilt the earth instead i wonder? would be cool if she does it on ground then it spilts the earth revealing the paper bombs then on water its the water that would spilt.

if konoha is a wasteland from the start what excatly is their to explore lol. perhaps it would have the tent tsuanade was unconscious in, the start of the rebuild?

after the pain ark the only time it really goes back to konoha was filler and start of kage summit meaning it may not be a central hub for much of the game. so i guess a lot of it would be going to the other countries and being stuck on a turtle island for a whole ark??

perhaps it would change between characters a lot more, any ideas?
