Does a Good anime or manga ending save the experiance off a bad series?

If the series overall is bad, but the ending is awesome, does that make it a good series?

This reminds me of terra nova, which had a great ending but less than great writing through the entire season.

Stories are about the bulk which leads to the ending, so I'd say no. The ending alone can't redeem a series which was poorly written in every other aspect. But by that same token, I'd hate a series which was good up until the ending. ONe which comes to mind is Code geass. xD

or to save you from the godawefulness of the series, yes it can, seeing makoto get stabbed, beheaded, and then seeing sekai get killed was by far the most satisfying thing ever after this series.
