Gandalf has type 4 immortality in all his forms. Which means only a being of equal or greater power can kill him permanantly especially in his maiar form

Jokes but no feat of Gandalf resisting an attack that takes life. I will even bend and allow his mair form a pass but not none of his physical forms. He actually need feats doing something similar. The only two people to survive the attacks had magic specifically designed to protect life protecting them. So its not just straight tankable.

At the same time, your splitting hairs. The debate is over, Gandalf has no need to tank a spell he can outright avoid in all circumstances. But in fairness, if he is deity based I'm doubtful a little poof of light will kill him, especially since it's already failed to kill two people with low magical protection compared to Gandalf.

Can he tank a life stealing spell? People have avoided dying to it, its slow, and type 4 makes it a yes. "Can't tank spells meant to take life" when almost any offensive spell is designed to kill someone else?

Has he ever tanked any spell that would kill a person? Yes. Being HP verse is full of human-duribility, the spell itself might not even affect Gandalf. The ideal of an "instant killing curse" in itself is a fallacy in that beings whom do have some form of life but are infinately more powerful would still die, when two people have already tanked it. One by plot, sure, but Tom Riddle didn't have any plot under his belt.

So tell me, DL, do you have proof that it can kill anyone above human/peak human durability? Also do you have any proof that such a spell indeed does what its name intails and simply isn't like any other spell?

You So know voldemort had a dorm I'd immortality and was laced in a spell specificallt designed to protect his life. Yet he was still reduced to a spirit. So Yeah still waiting on proof.

Yeah because the only thing keeping him immortal, being Harry's blood in him, was eliminated when voldemort killed the last horcrux in HP. It was more or less a backfire and he lost his immo when he killed the tether between him and harry.

So what happens when it hits gandalf, since it didn't even fully kill Voldy. If gandalf turns into a spirit, he loses the restrainer on himself.

Actually no its not back to the drawing board for me since gandalf has type #4+type #2 immortality. And the fact that avada kedavra has only been shown to affect human level beings and the OP stated that the characters are in their strongest state for this battle which makes gandalf a spirit being with type #4 immortality active which would prevent death caused by a lower being and IF this were his lesser forms he has barrier magic and a sheild summon both of which are capable of defending against HPverse level magics, then in his white state he clearly has enough reaction to dodge any of those spells and has stamina/endurance feats in grey state to continue to dodge

Voldermort has type #2 immortality via horcrux(es) which under other circumstances if he lacked the horcrux items he would have died from the reflected death spell so he doesn't even have full type #2

but gandalf in his weakest form has full type #2 and if his type #2 immortality is bypassed he gets immediate access to a vastly more powerful skill set and activates type #4 immortality

Dumbledore at best has type #1 immortality(longevity)
