with zero restriction your looking at a Maiar who was only slightly beneath Sauron in his prime..and possibly actually smarter

you should restrict him to his white or gray form there's nothing in the HP universe that can stop a full maiar short of a nuclear bomb

Maybe you should read IWD's posts. I haven't read everything about the Tolkien verse, but even I know that Gandalf's power far exceeds the HP verse. Just his fight with the Balrog proved that. Heck, avada kadavara would probably just rebound off of Gandalf and kill Dumbledore instead.

But he really doesn't have the reactions to keep up with Gandalf. Gandalf literally just has to speak one word and Dumbledore blows up.

Voldemort is really the only HP Verse character with any shot of fighting someone from the LotR Verse and that's only because of flight and horcruxes.
