Tiger Vs. Wolf

a 1 on 1 faceoff between a Tiger and a Wolf to see who gets to eat a huge pile of meat, who wins?

I say Tiger

The tiger is more physically capable than the common wolf.

Statistics (source: Wikipedia):
Tiger size: 330 cm.
Tiger speed: 65 km/h.
Wolf size: 160 cm.
Wolf speed: 64 km/h.

Tigers are also stronger and can use their claws effectively during battle. Wolves, like dogs, only use their teeth. Tigers can also climb trees to prepare ambushes or escape a failed battle. Tiger fangs are sharper and bigger than the wolf ones. I also believe that the tiger is more agile and has better reflexes.

Finally, I'd say that the tiger would win.

Definitely the tiger. Only chance wolves would have is if it was a group of three or more.

Wolves primarily hunt & fight in groups only rarely does a wolf go after large animals alone and its usuall when they are young and inexperienced and the prey is usually sick, old or young without its mother

Tigers have enough raw power to turn a wolf into a ragdoll and will probably treat it not unlike a house cat treats a caught rat

wolves hunt in packs for a reason. Alone they can't take down the prey they hunt because the prey the hunt is usually faster than they are and stronger.

A single wolf can never beat a tiger, unless the tiger was injured then it would be possible.

A pack of wolves however could take on a tiger.

wolves are pretty strong, they can take down much larger prey on their own, if they are on their own that is. Wolves dont always hunt in packs, although many do it varies some

also depend on the sub-species of wolf/tiger, although tigers have advantageous over wolves in one on one confrontations, and at sites such as Carnivora forums for instance, this would be lol'd at as a 'mismatch' in one on one scenario; 'nice' forum by the way, they get pretty specific with this sort of things
