I actually liked the romance. Was a nice side plot, especially after Voice in the Night.

More of like overplayed. The directors had to pull all of their romance cards in one episode, seeing as that the budget were meant for the next episode to be the Probending League finals. Still, it worked.

And yeah, I miss Zuko too. Hopefully he's still alive as an ambassador for the Fire Nation.

They could've kept the angst and then finally made up by the end of the finals.

I really like the new avatar. One thing i've always loved about the avatar series was the humor the creators took time to instill into the story. The first episode when Korra delivers her first line "I'm the avatar, deal with it!" it made me chuckle, and it gets me excited for the rest of the series.

I'd admit i'm still waiting on the overall plot to take off, but i haven't been disappointed yet. I've been entertained with each episode so they much be doing something right.

I just WISH they would finally tell me about Zuko's mom.

I enjoyed the episode a lot. Bending matches were cool. (I wonder if the sport will be 4v4 in like 40 years when there are more air benders?)
But I do think they'll need to make the next episode the final Pro-Bending one and then move on to other things.

Yes the romance was a little rushed. I thought they might stretch out Korra and Mako a few more episodes before throwing Bolin into the mix, but it was still good. Fat ferret and Barfing during the match was funny.

bolin being drunk off the noodles was jokes. this isn't romance kids, it's the classic teenage love triangle: quick, dirty, and temporary. using it as comedy rather than the stupid angst they tried to play up btw aang n katara (aang's like 10 yrs old for frigs sake) is much more effective. the whole show has a lighter tone in general which is fine since its balanced well with the serious amon junk. i liked mako n bolins "bros over hoes" moment tho lol, i was saying that the whole time.
