Ninja Tools: Comprehensive Guide

Here is all the information on ninja tools I could gather. I will update it as I learn more. I measured damage based on Wind Rasen-Shuriken ultimate form Naruto which does a base damage of 600/1000 (1000 being one full bar.) So for example, Wind Rasen-Shuriken hitting a victim of a defense rupture tag deals 1000 damage. 400 more than standard, or 66% more. Please let me know if you have questions about anything I will do my best to test and inform us all.

Effect 15% more damage

Defense Pill Giant Defense Pill
Duration 10sec / 15sec

Effect 15% less damage

Scroll of Hidden Cloud / Scroll of Hidden Cloud X
Duration: 5 seconds / 6.5 seconds
Effect: Immune to projectiles

Sub Scroll / Sub Scroll X
Duration: 2 seconds / 4 seconds
Effect: Can substitute without using sub meter

Power Mochi / Extra Power Mochi
Duration: 10sec / 20sec
Effect: 150% guard damage
Notes: Mochi effects projectiles and juts attacks in regard to guard breaking.

Ultra Mochi
Duration: 10sec
Effect: 200% guard damage

Power Down Tag / Tag X
Duration: 10sec / 15sec
Effect: Victim deals 25% reduced damage

Exhaustion / Tag X
Duration:10sec /15sec
Effect: Victim deals 60% reduced damage


Defense Down Tag / Tag X
Duration: 10sec / 15sec
Effect: 25% more damage taken

Defense Rupture Tag / Tag X
Duration: 10sec / 15sec
Effect: 66% more damage taken
Notes: Items also do bonus damage to victims of defense down and rupture tags

Poison Tag
Duration: 5 sec
Effect: 15% damage

Super Poison Tag
Duration: 10sec
Effect: 22% damage

Sleep Tag / super sleep tag
Duration: 3 seconds / 4 seconds
Notes: Sleepy tag CAN be blocked. Players can not sub while sleeping.
Insight: Usually not worth taking the super sleep tag as 3 seconds of sleep should be enough to pull off whatever you need.

Chakra Seal / Super
Duration: 4 seconds / 6 seconds

Cohesion Tag:
Duration: 10 seconds
Effect: 15% increase in team gauge
Insight: Weak effect. Can only use both supports once before the tag wears off. Offering only a 1-time 15% increase.

Chakra Steal
Effect: Steals 5% chakra
Insight: Very weak effect, possibly one of the three least useful items.

Explosive Tag/Ball 1-2-3
Effect: 10% / 20% / 40% Damage

Lighting Kunai 1 2 3
Duration: 1sec / 2sec / 3sec stun
Damage: 7%
Notes: Doesn't travel forever like tags, hits the ground eventually acting as a trap for a short time. Players cannot sub during "shock" effect but can sub right after.

Sub Log Tag:
Effect: recharge subs 2 seconds faster

Kunai Rain 1 2 3
Damage: 2% / 7% / 12% Damage

Burst Kunai 1
Damage: 3% / 7% / 15% Damage
Notes: I tested several times and it seems burst does slightly more daamge than rain. Although it might be do to the random "shotgun effect" of the projectiles.

Frenzy Pill / Pill X
Duration: 10sec / 15sec
Effect: 33% more damage taken
Notes: Frenzy effect makes you immune to throws, ultimates and team jutsus making it a semi-awakening effect also you are immune to all hit-stun and knockback effects. During frenzy you take 33% increased damage from everything. Be careful standing in Almighty Push, 8 Trigrams 64 Palms, Lava Lobster and any other jutsu that will continue to deal damage if you don't not get "knocked out" of it.

Sleep tags are totally OP. I think 1 sleep tag should probably cost 5 "weight" and 3 sleep tags should cost 8 weight. I mean they are hands down the best item, pretty much let you land a ultimate or team without question.

I think my playgroup is going to have to soft-ban them in tool set ups.

I still don't have all the tools unlocked though. I am missing poison tag 3 and chakra steal tags 2 etc...

But guys I really want you to give me all your "ninja tool tips" for this guide. All kinds of little things you have picked up in your experience such as:

Use items while jumping. It's better/safer than standing still.

Use a attack/defe/speed pills after being hit by attack/defense/speed down tags to flip the effect and vice versa.

The level 3 poison tag only does 25% damage, which is only 3% more than the level 2 poison tag.

I am devastated.
