Wouldn't Darui be almost as fast as V1 A though since they both got to Sasuke at the same time? After Cee genjutsu'd him and jugo

even without the gates gai could probably beat him with taijustu

Wow ummm no Gai cannot beat Darui in base what are you guys smoking...in the power scale Darui~Gai~Kakashi. They are all almost identical in power.

This is how I see the fight going...Gai can definitely beat Darui at close range with his nunchaku because of his brute strength, he would end up pushing Darui back with taijutsu. Darui could then start using water techniques to keep Gai at bay, he could also use moves like Black Lightning at long range to paralyze Gai. Gai would have to resort to the Eight Gates to cope with Darui's mid and long range attacks. Darui could then use Storm Element on a large scale and Gai could counter with Morning Peacock. Darui could put all his chakra into his Black Lightning: Black Panther attack but ultimately it would lose to Gai's Afternoon Tiger which is a more offensive, powerful attack.

Gai wins 7 times out of 10 until Darui gets more development but all of Gai's wins would be close calls.
