I understand now!!! He DID surpass Orochimaru.

Kabuto has an imperfect sage mode, but due to Jugo's bloodline in Kabuto, he now has the DNA of Jugo to help him achieve the 'closer to nature' body that Orochimaru searched for!

THAT is what they got from Jugo.


Karin = Kabuto's healing abilities

Suigetsu = Kabuto's slime and quick movements

Jugo = the ultimate body for senjutsu!!! so he has the snake that allows him to STAY IN THE MODE FOREVER, ANDDDD he has the DNA of jugo to allow him to surpass Orochimaru's stage of imperfectness.

I like the theory but I wonder what the snake on his back is for then because I thought that the snake was merged with him so it could collect natural energy and he could fight.

Either this, or it could be used to fight as well. I imagine it'd be tough to fight while collecting Nature Energy, though.

I don't think it would be to tough to fight while collecting natural energy because juugo was collecting natural energy as a reflex and he didn't even think about it. That was why he would have outbursts to get rid of his natural energy when he built up to much so I think since Kabuto implanted juugo's DNA that he would be able to absorb natural energy as a natural reflex like juugo could but I wonder if Kabuto could become bipolar like juugo since he implanted his cells.

Possibly. And remember that Juugo had been collecting nature energy for a long time already, so that's a poossible explanation as to why he gathered while not noticing. And if Kabuto goes bipolar rage mode, I think that'd be cool. It's also a possibility though. Kabuto will most likely stay in Sage Mode forever, burning off excess Nature Energy though.

ya kabuto probabaly won't become bipolar because he knew what caused juugo to go crazy but it would be pretty cool to see and that might be why Kabuto said that he is closer to the sosp because he can stay in sage mode forever because if just having sage mode and uzumaki dna is why he said he was close then he would be no closer to the sage than Naruto but if he can stay in it forever then he is definitely closer

Karin wasn't just for healing. it was for gaining Uzumaki chakra reserve levels. also to add into this mix there is Yamato's dna along w/ Harishima's, also anything he could have gained from Zetsu.

The point of the snake is that he's using the imperfect sage mode, with the perfect body, so that he can stay in the imperfect sage mode forever.

Well im disagreeing with this.. Karin's DNA is just for recovery.. I dont remember in the manga stating that all Uzumaki's have big pool of chakra..

What I can remember is.. Uzumaki's are well known for their fuinjutsu and recovery.. not stated big pool of chakra..

Only Naruto is because of Kurama.. The strongest beast before Juubi..

To learn Sage Mode.. One must have big pool of chakra and Kabuto is not qualified for that so he used Juugo's DNA bloodline limit to BYPASS that requirement (Big pool of chakra)..

the difference between Kabuto and Juugo is the fact that Juugo doesnt know how balance nature energy unlike Kabuto who learned how to because of training he had at Ryuchi cave..

hence, Kabuto with Juugo's bloodline ability.. he can now become one with nature allowing him to absorb nature energy and enter Sage Mode..

and yes I agree with OP.. Kabuto is using his snake from his belly to continously gather nature energy and maintain Sage Mode.. otherwise he would end up like Naruto being exhausted after his Frog Sage Mode ran out..

Suigetsu liquifying mode is just a bonus..

Ya I don't think that he took her dna for chakra. I think he took it for longevity because the uzumaki supposedly could live for a very long time.

Agreed, it was literally stated (at least in the translation I read) that he used Karin's body for her recovery ability.

It's not stated that the Uzumaki Clan is known for their large chakra pools, however Kushina and Naruto are recognized as having unique chakra. Kushina had her chains, Naruto with his extremely large (and warm / bright) chakra pool. It can be inferred that this line of Uzumaki are known for their chakra, but they are unique within the clan (as far as we know thus far).

Naruto does not have a large chakra pool just because of Kurama. Granted, that is a huge bonus. But Kakashi himself has stated that Naruto has at least twice as much chakra as he does (a renown Jonin), and that was while he was spending a good deal of chakra trying to suppress Kurama. As far as we know, he could easily have the greatest pool of Chakra in the series, with Kisame being the only rival that comes to mind. Unfortunately that comparison will forever be up in the air now.
