Ok, so seriously why does he want Sasuke? Does he want Sasuke? He (Kabuto) is able to Sage mode, something Oro couldn't do. It would also seem, IMHO, that Oro wanted Sasuke to get to this Sage mode ability. But Kabuto has already done this, so why does he still want Sasuke? Did I read over the reason, or is it more of a mystery now than ever? Any theories? Does the scroll have something to do with this? If so, what?

I think Kabuto wants to learn or gain access the Rikudo's powers.

Let's see from these facts..

- Oro wants Sasuke but failed
- Oro knows how to perform Sage mode but unable to find perfect body that is compatible with Sage mode.
- Oro and Kabuto decoded the Uchiha stone tablet through various experiments and discovered how to unlock Rinnegan.

So gaining Sasuke a young pure blooded Uchiha would be his last requirement to have the Rikudo's prowess.. If Kabuto succeeded taking over Sasuke's body then he would be able to mix it with Senju DNA, and Juugo's blood line limit to use all of these..

- Sharringan and Rinnegan
- Sage Mode
- Mokuton jutsu

with those powers he can easily pawn Tobi and steal all bijus from him, everything impossible would possible for him to do... thus becoming the new Sage of the Six Paths..

well this is just guess work since we don't have all the facts as of yet.

Oro has wanted to learn all jutsu.
Oro experimented w/ Harishima's dna, 1 result is creating Yamato.
Oro joins Akatsuki. he learns something from Madara/ Tobi. he steals something and becomes hunted.
Experiments show that combining Uchiha and Harishima into an outside vessel don't create the final result he was looking for. aka... Danzo. the imperfect test subject.
he toyed w/ other possible vessels to achieve a perfect result to achieve sage mode but always came upon an imperfection in them.
Oro seeking a perfect vessel believes he must have at least 1 true body of Senju or Uchiha to perfect it.
he first was thinking of Itachi but he proved too formidable.
in comes Sasuke. he begins to show true Uchiha powers.

with Oro's knowledge, Sasuke's body, Harishima's dna, and his Sage mode perfected he believed he could gain Rinnegan, mastering all jutsus.

Kabuto knows all this. so he either wants to prove his new abilities gained from Karin, Juugo, and Suigetsu to gain Sage Mode is strong enough to surpass Oro, by defeating Sasuke. or he is also seeking Sasuke to gain Rinnegan. remember Kabuto did ask for a Zetsu clone, and Madara ET had been altered w/ Harishima's dna. he knows how to create the final product but is still missing the final key ingredient, an Uchiha body. if all else fails maybe he is thinking of having the Zetsu clone Sasuke to use it as a last resort?

I'm not entirely sure oro didn't achieve a stage similar or beyond sage mode. The narutopedia claims he became Dragon God perfect technique against itachi, but it just so happens itachi has the most powerful sword in existence able to draw you into some mystical dream world with a single touch, itachi also had the yata mirror just one more item and oops error in memory retrieval

IF either yata mirror or totsuka is in either itachi or sasuke's possession let alone both somehow, kabuto is pretty gutsy or insane or insanely broken with hax.

To be honest that sword is ridiculous it's like death god summoning but instead of eternal pain like battle you go into a a heavenly bliss for all eternity, immortality in some dream world, heck if oro doesn't learn everything there is to learn with all eternity to develop his skills that would be ridiculous(note ben 10 professor paradox became insane and basically learned everything by having an eternity in solitude confinement, oro has the blessing of hallucinated angels and sexy no jutsu little boys in all likelyhood, much better jail conditions than the poor professor paradox in dark isolation. Honestly who wouldn't want that it's like you're locked in your room but free to call any girl into it to do your bidding, or little boy if you're into that sort of thing. And you're in an invincible eternal bubble of protection and bliss, like having cocaine pumped straigth into your veins but your body able to regenerate and remain unharmed simply receiving the bliss)
