Aizen drove Urahara out of Soul Society by framing him for Aizen's own crime. He sacrificed people to the Hogyoku and had his followers kill people, and even killed his followers. I'm thoroughly convinced no matter what good came of Aizen's actions, he always had evil foremost in his heart (assuming he even had that).

But if Soul Society is evil then it's being destroyed is a good intention.

so what became of this? Has there been any info on the spirit king since? I just finished the Aizen arc and not sure if i want to keep watching if its all filler. was curious if there was any other info on the spirit king after Aizen mentioned it and this came up in google.

Not really. There was the fullbring arc but while not being filler
it doesn't really address the spirit king issue. perhaps the current
arc will.
