Deidara: most misunderstood (spoiler) of all

To be completely honest, I've never liked Deidara. Still, it's bugged me that 99.999% of his fanbase fails to understand his personality even after all this time, and what also irritates me is that they do not understand

his death. I personally haven't met a Deidara fan who didn't call it stupid, but then I wonder if they even understand the meaning behind it.

Right before he detonated, Deidara specifically said, "In death, I'll become art." By the way he was behaving, this wasn't something he came up with on the spot -- he knew ahead of time how to do it and even how far it would reach. Blowing himself up was not a last minute cop out against Sasuke when all else failed. He did it because he wanted to see Sasuke's emotional reaction. He did it because by doing so, he was becoming what he loved the most and what he lived for: his art. By killing himself and ending his artistic streak -- as the only artist of his style -- he was (excuse the pun) going out with a bang. Creating his masterpiece.

I may not like the guy, but credit for the creative end.

So, in understanding all this, there are two common comments among Deidara fans that always make me roll my eyes:

1) "OMG! Blowing himself up was so stupid!" - If you say that, then you're calling his plan stupid and thus calling the way he executed it stupid -- to sum it up, you're calling his art stupid. Not so bad, but when someone turns around and tries to say they're the BIGGEST Deidara fan EVER and OMGLOVE his art, then they're contradicting themselves without even realizing it.

2) "OMG! It's Sasuke's fault that Deidara blew himself up!" If you say that, then you're practically giving credit to Sasuke for Deidara's masterpiece. Just a guess, but Deidara would try to blow the face off of anyone who suggested such a thing.

Long story short, I found nothing wrong with Deidara's death. It was fitting, and I couldn't think of a better way for him to have gone out.

I'm a Deidara fan and even I admit that it was stupid of him to blow himself up. I completely understand that he is cocky and foolish at times, but I respect him for his fighting skills.

Yeah I agree with what you say
most fans are like, Sasuke was out of chakra why didn't Deidara just use another bomb to finish him?
its true that Deidara was also very tired from the battle
but I'm sure he could have created one more little clay animal to finish Sasuke
but I think he just wanted to blow himself up because...honestly...he was kinda crazy, like literally, and he wanted to become his art

Didn't Deidara say that he was almost out of chakra, so he couldn't mold the clay properly?

Yeah, I hate people that hate Sasuke just because Deidara blew himself up. Itshowed that Deidara was kind of insane. He was waaaaaaaaaaaay to into his art.

Actually, I don't think that Deidara is really dead, I think he faked it. That's just something I feel.

But I agree it doesn't make sense to blame Sasuke for his "death", though I do know people who do. Sasuke didn't have any control over Deidara's behavior or have any way of knowing how his comments would make Deidara react.

And as for the topic title, I actually think it's Hidan who is the most misunderstood character in the fandom.

I respect him that he chose to die by his own hand, instead of dying from Sasuke's hand. Still, he could have finished off Sasuke without the need of going kamikaze, as he stated by himself, but it looks like that his desire to see Sasuke beeing scared took it's toll on him.

I always thought and knew that he was misunderstood a lot, I agree with that. It's just the vast majority fans are so damn retarded to understand a character like him, and definitely start hating on him (for what??!!!!!). He's very complicated and irregular, not like other people, that's one of the reasons I love him the most. He also had the most character/personality out of all of Akatsuki members, also I think Deidara may be a bit insane over explosives and acted evil during the Kazekage arc, I still think he's one of the most normal people in the Akatsuki, because he never wanted to join that stupid organization in the first place.

I agree. He most certaintly went out with a bang. He died as a true piece of art. The way he wanted to. And I respect that. It was not sasukes fault at all. It was deidaras own decision.
