Personality

Michio is that type of Marine who believes in Absolute Justice, and is a deadly enforcer of that Justice. He is also a holy person, hence the crosses on his gloves and cuffs. He believes all Pirates are unholy and deserve to be smitten. Despite this ruthless nature, he is also usually calm and shows restraint. He wouldn't kill unnecessarily, if he could help it, and Michio wouldn't beat a defenseless being, Pirate or not. He had once spared a crew of Pirate who ravaged a whole town. He did, however, have them locked up in Impel Down.

Going back to his Absolute Justice position, he is willing to throw away his personal feelings for the victory of the Marines. Should he had to kill a defenseless Pirate if it meant victory in a certain situation, he wouldn't bother hesitating.
