An open response to Heroking

This was going to be a PM, but as no one else wants to address you on this, I will.

This post is also to air out my personal feelings of the whole BG situation which I have remained relatively unbiased on.

As a matter of my general "full disclosure" policy when taking any moderator action, this is the PM you sent me. Actually you sent me two which I am combining together for readability.

I apparently you and other mods like be biased. You guys stress following the rules yet you don't apply them to anyone except people you don't like.

Seemly you guys are mad because I'm following the rules. The rules say no spam, and I'm simply following those rules.

Please don't make rules if you're only going to establish them against posters you don't like.

Instead of complaining about reports shouldn't you guys actually take note and apply your precious rules to them.

But anyway, I not wrong for reported something wrong, am I? No. Stop trying to make it as if I'm doing something wrong, when in fact it you guys.

I also didn't flame in that thread, go read it for yourself. I was the only one having an actual argument until mr. biased and some other guy started flaming and spamming me. Which I addressed but mr. biased didn't care.

The biggest issue with you is that you are too stupid, or blinded, to see the issue.

Whether you flamed in the thread or not is irrelevant to all of my attacks on you. My attacks were based on the fact that you reported 15 times in 2 hours and directly caused most people volunteering to turn off their email alerts. Now bigger issues than your relatively small issue aren't going to be read or responded to.

As to people being biased. The battlegrounds collectively has 3 very broad groups of people.

Generally decent people who get frustrated when debating people who have limited talent for debate, or those who use false assumptions.

Stupid people who are not smart enough to realize they are annoying the crap out of everyone else. They think they make good points but just get everyone stirred up.

In both of these groups are well intentioned users, and in both are mean spirited fanboys/elitists. Both groups are asses, and both are the reason there is so much conflict and drama.

The third group is the newer people, and the older people who just don't care that much anymore because the life is sucked out of them.


The first two groups get in a constant circlejerk and things start simmering and eventually start boiling over.

The result of this is always the same, two or more people get butthurt and complain. This then makes the mods look into it. we find that most of the people involved crossed lines.

Now my take on this is to just punish everyone until people learn how to behave and act. Equal and as unbiased punishment as possible. I in fact did this in the beginning. The result was EVERYONE was miserable and I defended myself for weeks. Not worth it.

So what happened, a few mods decided to run the BG, they tried to be in with the "BG culture" and inevitably there was a bias. People complained, I stepped in, those mods stopped being in the BG. Then what happened you ask? Then no one was in the BG, 60% of the BG members left because they were too butthurt or annoyed. People screamed for order and gave the mods crap for "not doing your jobs."

Thus began the TBC era, as he was the only person inclined to take that area, because members of the BG equivalent to teenagers who never had real parents who are up for adoption. The BG users pushed him too far, he lashed back, and crossed a lot of lines. No one in power cared. You know why? Because no one wants to deal with the BG people. then it got so bad martial law was declared and the BG became moderated posts only. Why? Because people couldn't address each other like human beings, or take rough words against them on the internet. People complained even more about their rights to be morons being violated and Wooster stepped in saying he would help out, so the BG could stay.

The BG should be around, it is the most relevant Naruto based section with the most activity, but honestly, no one wants to deal with it.

The BG doesn't get to have nice things. No one is going to look into anything Wooster does, because no one wants to deal with it, because you (meaning those who bring the BG to everyone's attention with this silly drama) are annoying as hell, and we are volunteers.

I think you mistake apathy for bias. Most of us are completely apathetic to your plights.

But again, the BG is dead to me, and many in power. We have given all the f$cks we have to give, and there are just no more f$cks in circulation.

I think you personally suck because you did something that makes the already limited volunteer staff even less likely to help out. That is the only thing you have ever done that I have noticed. Nothing useful or positive, just undermining the efforts of others. That makes you dumb at best, and actively disruptive at worse.

My biggest issue is that I actually believe you don't see the problem with reporting my post I made of you every hour. This is a huge problem because it means you are unlikely to change your behavior. It needs to change. Now I COULD spend an hour coding something up to render your reports useless, so as to not bother everyone, but I don't care about you enough to do that. So if I'm not going to fix the system, this means we are in a place where either you are deliberately trying to undermine all the volunteers because you are an ass, or that you are too dumb to ever realize what you are doing is hurting everyone.

Either way, the relationship isn't working out, and so you should leave before someone makes you leave.

I'm not going to ban you, mainly because I dislike you, and I'll never ban someone I can't be unbiased against. Someone else may if you keep acting like a 6 year old, but that's on them, not me.

This is the one and only time you may get some honesty. It's coming because I'm not around often enough to be in a political position over this, and because everyone else doesn't want to waste hours trying to fix this. I can't blame them.

Move on, and stop being an asshat, your not impressing anyone, and there is no victory condition.

I know I'm not being the perfect mod by being frank, but subtle doesn't seem to be working. This is done publicly so I don't get 20 PM's about what you claim I said in a PM.

Lastly, please don't mistake this for a conversation. I had something to say and said it, and I'll likely not respond.

I may respond to people filling in my woefully inadequate knowledge of BG politics and events. I'll admit straight out I avoid the place since I was asked to leave and never come back.

I miss most of you, and read things here often but rarely post anymore. Mainly cause if people thought I was back, I'd go back to 400+ emails like the one I quoted above every day.

I think Roma made the highest echelon of the sections views abundantly clear and I can't say I fully agree but I can understand his sentimentality and reasons for feeling that way. I have no desire to see a return to the 2010 era of pure and utter madness.

But Herokings you were and are completely and absolutely out of line. I took my family on vacation to Disney come back and am inundated by OCDesque report spams on conduct that was not even remotely worth reporting.

You are dense, you are at times dishonest. Your a fanboy and worse of all(well dishonesty aside)? You do not have a thick skin you cannot take it. Now you made a threat of physical violence towards a poster and quickly deleted it count yourself lucky.

Simply put your antics are preposterous you have pushed these big bosses one step closer to giving the section a gigantic middle finger..and your own hypocrisy is painfully transparent.

Things like this make me happy I'm not a moderator, not that anyone would be inclined to offer me a position.

I figure if I get pissed at seeing half a bag of Cheetos spilled on the same floor spot every $%$%^$@ day in the building I clean, vowing to burn alive the unprofessional asshat responsible, then moderation of any level where such crap as this level of harassment happens is likely going to incite my wrathful side--whereby I hunt the $%$%%#&#% down in real life and pry his teeth out tooth by tooth. After that is when I take my frustration out on him.

Bracket Shikamaru is a bit worse than this guy and the punishment he got only reinforces that.

I am sure HK will be back when he does he needs to realize things will be different and I doubt his antics will be tolerated any more

Maybe you could do a thing where Heroking is still able to post, but every single other user on the forum is unable to see his posts. Basically everyone has their ignore button turned on for Heroking (Or any other user who does this sort of crap). Just a suggestion.

We have that done for another user, but it's the same thing as basically banning them. Plus I get the impression people don't like this guy.

He's personally never done anything wrong to me, except he sent me over 250 emails.

to be honest with you there should be a "man up and stop report spamming" sticky because at times I'm genuinely amazed at the type of posts that are reported.

To be fair when a post gets reported you should look into it the first time they press the report button. That way, your inboxes won't be spammed. See, the reason why they do this stuff is because they are ignored and they have to spam the report button to catch your attention.

The most hilarious thing is that these problems stem from few posters in actuality or in vast most cases.

Anyway I have nothing personally against Heroking. Although I was not aware of his "rampant policing"

I am sorry, but that is silly. We don't have time to spend ever minute of the every hour scouring our email for reported posts. We will get to it when we get to it.

Also note, 80% of the reported posts in the BG are people complaining that they lost a debate.

I suppose VIZ forums having a younger populations of users makes a difference?
