Jiraiya vs. Minato

Who would win, the student or the teacher?

When it comes to the toads just assume that whoever summons each toad first has control.

Jiraiya's Sage Mode would cause problems for Minato, and Gamabunta would give him time in prepping it.

Tough one.

Minato certainly starts out by throwing his kunai everywhere. Jiraiya could try to counter by using Swamp wherever the kunai are, but Minato could theoretically just teleport out of there.

Jiraiya seems more likely to use Summonings first. Out of Minato's 4 or 5 fights we've seen from him, he's only summoned once. Then again, Jiraiya only summons when there's another summoning around, but I'd give him the benefit of the doubt since he's renowned as the Toad Sage.

From there, Minato should be able to flash around until he sees an opening. Jiraiya's best chance would be to set up his barrier and attempt Sage Mode.

I'd like to see what others say first.

So this is base? I think we have to compliment Minato's speed here as he did manage to blitz A after all.

Minato does have nice speed although Jiraiya should know about his skills. Hes also pretty capable and has several options when dealing with Minato.

But then again Minatos speed is still going to be a problem.

Lol no but on real, Minato shouldn't have a problem getting him before Sage Mode.

He's much faster than base Jiraiya, and all Jiraiya has in base is fire style variations with his needle protection, and Gamabunta, which does nothing for Minato's speed/seal warping.

Giant Oil Flame Bullet is Barrier'd out, and it's not difficult to tag Gamabunta, which means Minato now appears behind Jiraiya on top of Gamabunta, and kills him.

I still don't get FTG. Is Minato teleporting? If he is then he's not really "fast" lol

Well anyway,I don't think Jiraiya could win without Sage Mode.

If Minato spreads kunai, Jiraiya would probably swamp them as stated above. But then he could just throw a kunai at Jiraiya while he's swamping and Rasengan him. BUt Jiraiya would probably be looking up at Minato while he does it, so he would evade the kunai... But Minato can put seals down even if his kunai are swamped soo....

But if his kunai throwing speed really is faster than A himself then Jiraiya may not be able to react :/

I agree, Minato isn't exactly "lightning speed". He TELEPORTS but regardless of his teleportation,he is fast. Anyway, Jiraiya could use his summons to buy him time for Sage Mode. He could also use the swamp as said bye Sora.

Yea FTG is teleporting. According to multiple characters he also has fast reflexes and general movement.

Just checking. Many people say its not teleporting. Just an advanced body flicker technique. and others say it IS teleporting, so i get confused.

@SS3 His kunai speed may be faster than A. 542 pg 14, last panel. After Minato dodges he throws a kunai down at A, and A is still sprinting in the same position as when Minato dodged him.

Minato,and his FTG technique. Would make it difficult for Jiraiya to stand still long enough to gather enough Natural Energy to enter Sage Mode.

Seeing as Jiraiya has trouble balancing his normal chakra with Natural Energy,he would need to summon Ma,and Pa 1st. Then fuse with them in order to gather the Natural Energy needed to enter Sage Mode.
