Kamui vs Amaterasu

Which one is stronger, this is a tough question , Kamui sucks ANYTHING but Amaterasu burns everything. So the question is can Kamui suck Amaterasu or Amaterasu burn Kamui?

Me ? I am for Kamui, if it can suck anything what's to stop it from sucking the black flames ?

They appear at the same speed. Both jutsu appear on what the user's eye is focused on. They appear instantly but there is a lag between jutsu "activation" (most readily seen in Amaterasu thanks to the blood tears) and "appearance" of the jutsu.

Therefore if both users have equal reactions both jutsu can be aimdodged by the same opponent with the requisite speed. Having said that, Kakashi's got the slowest reactions of the three with these jutsu, meaning A can aimdodge Kamui the same way he did Sasuke's Amaterasu.

The way Kamui and Amaterasu work also makes for a crucial difference. Kamui is far better than Amaterasu if both are used defensively, but Amaterasu is superior if both are used offensively.

As a void Kamui has to work to pull things into it, overcoming any bonds that connect objects (eg tearing arms out of joints) or just plain dragging entire objects into it. If the object can tear itself away or just plain not be there when the void forms then it will receive no damage whatsoever. However, if the void's work is made easier by say the object charging into it, it will take far less time to do it's job. Therefore a projectile being fired at Kakashi will be consumed by Kamui very, very quickly. On the other hand the void is an all or nothing deal. You either do real damage by tearing a target apart or consuming them altogether or they get off scott-free.

Amaterasu on the other hand is a conflagration of absurdly powerful flames. If you set a projectile coming at you on fire with it, the odds are that projectile will be burnt to ash before it reaches you. But unlike Kamui, wherein a void forms at a set distance and the projectile doesn't get past it, a projectile hit by Amaterasu will still carry on towards the MS user. If it's fast or durable enough that object will still hit, except this time it's on fire. However, when used to attack even if the enemy partially evades it or doesn't get a vital spot burnt up they still have flames that they can't put out on them. Those flames will spread and consume them, very painfully too. And it'll leave the environment on fire, potentially causing problems with running around by adding hazards to the environment.

The reason Kamui is more flawed than Amaterasu though is it's chakra cost. Regardless of Kakashi's issues with Sharingan and MS taking more chakra than normal, the larger the object the more chakra needed to warp it. Amaterasu is, as far as we know, a package deal wherein you "pay" the same amount of chakra every time. Without this flaw Kamui would be the ideal defensive jutsu and Amaterasu offensive that works by simply looking at the target.

It's not that, Kakashi wasn't an Uchiha to start with that's why he had problems using Kamui, that's why you think it uses too much Chakra. Itachi said that him self.

I think kamui is stronger..because it might be able to suck amaterasu away..
I think in an ep, where Kakashi and the others and Yamato were heading to where Sasuke fought Itachi. And if I remember correctly, the path was blocked off with amaterasu flames. And then Kakashi used his sharingan and then i think he activated his MS and that was the end of the scene. So im believing that he used kamui to clear the path.

well if we refer strictly to the ms skills kamui takes it
why?
it moves amaterasu in another dimension
there is no way amaterasu could burn it
however if we talk at a battle beetween 2 char that use amaterasu and kamui(sasuke vs kakashi) where they can only use amaterasu and kamui amaterasu takes it
why?
kakashi can only use kamui at best 3 times
sasuke can use amaterasu more than 3 times for sure
even on general case if they fight if chakra is used amaterasu

both are 1 hit kill
but kamui can absorb amy
amy can't do to kamui
but in a fight like i said above amm takes this

If you're talking abt effectiveness, Id go with Amaterasu since its attack radius is greater, which is more helpful when you need to deal with numbers.
However, Amaterasu vs Kamui is a very tough question. I personally vote for Kamui since basically, its just a hole on the space, a door between the current dimension and an other, which cannot be burned or destroyed.

Amy was dodged by Raikage and hit the samurai behind him even though it's considered "instant" it looked like it moves in a path of the eye sight. I think maybe it appears at a certain spot, and if there is nothing physical to burn it or isn't blocked it continues moving forward at a very fast rate, because that's where Sasuke continues looking even though the target is no longer there (Raikage's body). I don't know how the Raikage dodged the initial release since it basically appears wherever Sasuke looks initially and moves forward at high speed from that point.

I assume the Raikage saw his eyes change, so he simply moved quickly when he anticipated the the release of the chakra in his eye, and because he was so fast Sasuke's perception could not keep up with him accurately. It's like trying to watch a bullet move at full speed, and then trying to put the Amy on that bullet while it's moving. This is why Kakashi usually can only warp objects coming directly at him, because it's like trying to hit the nail on the point, it's inaccurate against high speed opponents.

Kamui, however, just appears in a certain spot and sucks objects into a black hole warping them into another dimension, if it misses it does not continue moving, it just misses, and pulls nothing but air into the separate dimension. It's not a projectile like amy, it's a specific space that Kakashi chooses to spawn a black hole with his chakra. Whether or not it hits something is not relevant, it will open in that initial space and close in that space.

Honestly they cannot really be explained. It's all speculation.

Kishimoto didn't write a book on how they work. It's inconclusive, the same way Sasori's puppet body is a mystery that cannot be explained.

Everything KibaandAkamaru said above and what I've said is basically the most logical explanation possible. Doesn't make it right.

Don't let it eat you up. Logic is not something easily figured in these types of manga.

Amy is probably the better Jutsu as it can continue to be used even if it misses initially. Once the Jutsu is on, and fire begins spawning the user can continue to spawn anywhere he looks.

While with Kamui, it's a hit or miss, and probably takes the user time to initiate it a second time, as you cannot spawn multiple dark holes wherever you look, since it would start bouncing off each other and destroy the universe. It's a one-at-a-time Jutsu.

There is just 1 difference, Kakashi's Kamui is a mini Black hole, so it sucks what's in front of it in time.

I think Kamui and Amaterasu are both powerful jutsu's that can be used. Kamui is useful for sending something into another dimension, however it requires good enough aim for eliminating an enemy, so it's made more for defensive and strategical uses. Amaterasu is a more offensive jutsu. Because the flame will burn for seven days and nights, it makes for a perfect way to stop enemy movement, as well as taking out enemies with as much as a look.
