My apologies for the title of this thread. I intended to type "Tobi" but instead typed "Madara". Old habits die hard you know.

Surely someone other than myself noticed the resemblance. When he put the 5 tails in check he used a technique very Reminiscent of Kushina's chakra chains which she used to restrain the kyuubi much like Tobi just did with the 5 tails! Kushina attained this power by being of the rare Uzumaki clan members to harbor the "special chakra".

What could this mean?

Immediate thought, if it's the same technique......Tobi may have this special chakra wielded by a limited amount of Uzumaki's.

If that's the case, how did he get said chakra? Was it just more of his genetic manipulation? Is he an Uzumaki with transplanted eyes? Maybe Tobi is that old Uzumaki guy in ch. 500 pg. 3?(he appears to be the old leader of the Uzumaki clan, kalmeast and I discussed before that we think he is probably Mito's dad)

I dunno, I was going to try and form a lucid theory on all this but I decided I'd just throw it out there and see what inventive idea's you all may have.

Maybe since Tobi has some Senju DNA he can use the chakra chains like Kushina to subdue tailed beasts.

It kinda clears the confusion of how Hashirama controlled tailed beasts since I doubt wood style alone would be enough to control all 9 tailed beasts.

Good thoughts on this one.. what I've just noticed is Tobi used his sharringan to control the Bijus while he used the chain to suppress the 5 tails when it tried to attack him..

as of now I dont have idea who the hell Tobi is.. He might be or somewhat connected to that old leader of Uzumaki clan youre talking about ( Uzumaki Ichizoku )

like I said in other thread Tobi is someone who's against Konoha's will of fire...

Except it was a collar not chains. Just Tobi showing of his skills as per usual.

ya i agree it seems similar to Kushina's chakra chains. it was a chain that wrapped around 5 tails neck and absorbed some of it's chakra. what i really found interesting was that Tobi was able to maintain it even while he was phasing through Bee's fist.

He certainly does have some connection....tho it may not be direct since he seems to be the god of gene splicing.

In regards to your quote, we must remember.....the chains have not been shown to control/manipulate the beasts. It's only been shown to restrain them.

thanks for your comment. and I agree, the chains aren't to manipulate the will of the bijuu's. It has only been shown to restrain.

Where did you find that name (Ichizoku)? Was that in the manga or is it databook info?

Now this is interesting....you know the author has been pretty vague on the details about Kushina's gift but he still went to the trouble to emphasize how "special" it is. I could easily see it tying into something big like the the six paths thing. Good stuff kalmeast. You know it may just be one left to be revealed bc (tho it's looking unlikely at this point) Byakugan or maybe some elevated form of it could still be one of those paths. I mean the other two dojutsu are, so that possibility is still hard for me to ignore.

It was a collar that Tobi made out of "chains" (a chakra chain to be more descriptive). I'm sure Kushina could have used it as a collar as well.

I'm starting to believe that he is a character who is a cross breed of Uchiha and Senju.
The Uzumaki are relatives of Senju, so it's only natural, unless he is another Uzumaki, which would make sense since he knew of the trademark red hair for Nagato.

I don't really see a problem with this... Either way, if he got senju blood from nagato or somewhere else, it's needed for the rinnegan. And since he has Senju blood he's going to be able to do the chains...

well, no one ever said there is a problem with this. And Senju and Uzumaki are two different bloodlines. Distantly related but different. Having Senju blood would not automatically mean he has the "special chakra". That ability has not been referenced to the Senju in any way thus far in the manga. Being Uzumaki wouldn't even automatically give that ability either. It is even rare among the Uzumaki clan, so it's not like all Uzumaki and definitely not all if any Senju have it.

What if we take the literal meaning of what Tobi meant when he said he gave Nagato his eyes? What if Tobi is Nagato's father? I think it'd be kinda lame as we know nothing about him but a possibility?

But having the same techniques doesn't necessarily mean you have to be from the same clan, that was proved by Kakashi and Dazou's Sharingan.

Hmm J3st3r.... the byakugan hah...this would make absolute sense... 3 eyes (dojutsu) powers + 3 body powers (senju, uzumaki and perhaps Namikaze) equals 6...therefore the 6paths are complete. Whose eyes is it gonna be...
like i always said, The byakugan does so much that the other two cannot do and Kishi doesn't introduce anything in vein... let's hope he incorporates it in.

i believe that this "special chakra" of the uzumaki's has something to do with being decendents of the senju clan. if this is the case then consider if tobi is partly fused with hashirama dna, like part of a zetzu then that would enable him access to this special chakra.
