I made this thread because of the upcoming Avengers vs X-Men storyline.

Captain America would have my vote seein as He's a Super-Soldier and lethal with his Shield....Cyclops is still human even if he's a mutant and the Optic Blasts only shoot where he looks unlike Cap can bounce his shield off whatever to get his target.

So yeah im goin with Captain America

Captian America can only fight in close - mid range combat but Cyclpos can fight from distance, and if something wasn't to hold his eyes the whole battlefield would explode, if anyone knows why cyclops actually wears those glasses then you get the idea. And i can't see a way for Cap to get near him even though Cap has his shield he can throw as far as he wants but we all know that cyclops's accuracy with his eyes simply never miss, so if Cap does throw his shield Cyclops would blast it away with his eyes. But of course if it does somehow get to close combat then Cyclops is pretty much done for it, but it won't happen that easy, so my vote goes to Cyclops, just for the reason of his tactical advantage not that he is better than Cap, i actually even prefer Cap than Cyclops.

I agree with the post above me. Cyclops takes this by a landslide. Is blasts are pure energy Captain america's shield wont give in to it because it is vibrantium, but the shear force and power of the blast from cyclops is enough to keep CA at bay. And if he throws the shield..well he's pretty much defenseless.

hand to hand i would say MAYBE CA might have the advantage with military combat training, but the x-men train as well. and lol, why get close when you have a sniper's scope vision eye beam laser blast???

I do know he destroyed large portion of a huge forest in one blast one time.

cyclops is capable of producing 2 gigawatts of power from his eyes. he was also able to knock THORS HAMMER OUT OF HIS HAND.
