Sage Naruto Vs CS2 Sasuke

Naruto won't try for frog Kata.

He'll probably try to flank Sasuke with clones while he throws a Rasenshuriken from afar.

This will work, because Sasuke is both unaware Naruto can reach that speed, and has no knowledge on Rasenshuriken's speed.

SM Naruto is fully capable of dodging Sasuke's firestyle, Chidori, and countering any snake summon with his own summons.

There is no way Sasuke can win this without Genjutsu, Naruto will not allow him to prep Kirin.

Agreed, agreed and agreed. Just want to point out that CS2 Sasuke cannot use Kirin. It required both Sasuke's fire as well as Amaterasu to create the environment that could enable the use of Kirin

Looked to me like he was prepping it in base form when Orochimaru stopped him at his hideout.

People speculate that can't be proven, but common sense stipulates he blew the hideout up (Which heated the atmosphere), and raised his hand saying "I'll end you with this", clearly showing he was going to use it.

But it also cant be proven that Sasuke can use Kirin without the help of Amaterasu. And the prep for Kirin would be too long. Sage Naruto would have taken him out already with a Rasengan or Rasenshuriken

Of course it would take too long.

But he can use it based on that obvious hinted feature by Kishimoto constructing the scene to begin with. Just not in this battle.

Orochimaru doesn't grab people's hands unless he knows they can use the Jutsu.

And we don't even know if the jutsu he was about to use on team 7 was Kirin. He was shown using hand signs for it, and he said to Itachi that it didn't require hand signs. It could've been a simple Chidori Spear.

True Kirin requires no hand signs. Maybe he didnt want Sasuke to use 'that' jutsu because they wanted to retreat rather than fight.

And when they refer it to ''that,'' it's usually something we haven't seen yet. That or Kishi just didn't have the plans for Kirin down yet at that time.

Orochimaru preventing him from using Chidori spear? Yeah right.

Chidori spear is a swift horizontal wave of the arm, not a vertical arm gesture. Which also requires no hand signs.

That was Kirin and we all know it.

He's entirely capable of heating the atmosphere with his own fire.

Nope that was most likely the fire jutsu before Kirin. Sage Naruto can take out Sasuke when he is prepping for Kirin. Plus if he uses Kirin, Naruto can counter with Rasenshuriken which is wind based

Holding his arm up was the same gesture he made when he used Kirin against Itachi. He also stated to Naruto this would kill him. If you don't understand that's Kirin I can't help you.

But you need prep first for Kirin. You need to send that dragon fireball into the sky to create a cumulonimbus to create the effect for the jutsu.

Ya gotta remember that Chidori Spear is what killed Danzo and caught Orochimaru off guard, and even the regular Chidori required hand signs.

And if he could do it with his own fire, he wouldn't have went through all the trouble of going CS2 in the Itachi fight to use Great Dragon Flames. He's never shown to use that in base btw.

He blew up the hideout already when Sai attempted to kill him.

That heated the atmosphere.

But he didnt send two HUGE fire dragons into the atmosphere. He only blew up the lair. There was no giant fireball that was sent up into the air. Kirin needs that Giant Fireball to change the weather via the Giant Fireball being fired at the sky.

That's true.

Still though his gesture, Orochimaru stopping them and the fact he used a large fire technique hints from the author to the reader he was going to use it.

Also amy burning on the surface apparently heated the atomosphere as well. So blowing something up from below shouldn't be any different.
