very interesting thread. i just cant see obito being the mastermind behind everything madara has claimed to accomplish. eg. moon's eye world domination.

Besides the piont that it seems illogical, (which Kishi loves to throw us major plot twists) this plot twist just has too many holes. We saw Obito crushed. We know hes not coming back. So that just proves the piont.

His only use in the Naruto saga, was to make the amazing Kakashi Gaiden, be an awesome character, and then die so Kakashi can get his sharingan.

Ok i'm just putting my 2 cents out there, don't listen if your thickheaded and just want to believe obito is dead.
THEORY:
So if you watch this anime a lot, you should know Tobi has 2 personalities. Playful Tobi..and Serious Tobi. For some episodes, (i.e, where Madara talks to Naruto in the land of iron) he says "No attacks work on Uchiha Madara" why would he talk in that POV? why wouldnt he just say "no attacks work on me" And as we have learned just because Obito was crushed by a rock doesnt mean he's dead. Madara has lived how long? Kakuzu had 5 hearts -.- it all depends on their ability. And Obito's words in the Kakashi Gaiden *SPOILER ALERT...was "he would destroy this so called ninja" and whats tobi trying to do? use all the bijuus so he can become the 10-tail jinchuriki and destroy all the ninja. And the fact that obito's left eye was retransplanted into kakashi means his right eye is the only one in. and tobi's mask only shows the right eye. ALSO, he replants nagato's rinnegan in his left eye socket, because obito's left eye is gone maybe that's where the rinnegan went. Madara had both of his eyes, so he cant retransplant the rinnegan.

Tobi & Konan, is that when Konan quoted "He's gone, he must be..." and then Tobi cuts in and says, "Dead, right?" At that point you can clearly see his mask destroyed about halfway, and revealing TWO EYES! BOTH OF THEM SHARINGAN! SO UNLESS TOBI PURPOSELY REMOVED HIS LEFT SHARINGAN, IN ORDER TO PUT IN NAGATO'S RINNEGAN, I DON'T SEE HOW TOBI IS OBITO. Also during that same fight, Tobi claimed that HE was the one who gave Nagato the Rinnegan, when in fact, Nagato should be like 11 years older than Obito. Now how in the world would Obito UCHIHA manage to get his hands on the Rinnegan!? Perhaps Obito couldn't handle being the "child of prophecy" and gave his "other eyes" to an older stranger.

As no doubt happens to others on occassion, I get to reading a thread and getting excited enough to post a reply--only to see as I begin multi-quoting that the thread is very old and will incite unrighteous anger when I make the reply; but in this case you can stuff it midway into your alimentary canal for all I care.

Tobi could be Obito. Wouldn't be the first time a villain was superseded by another just to keep the facade going. Obito is not man enough to be Danzo--I take umbrage at that remark in his stead. No, Obito in any other world would be worm and mold food--here he is devoured by a member of the Aburame Clan's bugs, which replicate into a fully-functioning clone of Obito (interesting side effect of taking in a Sharingan), known to us as B. Zetsu. The Aburame guy was a loyal servant of Tobi, who is not Madara, but Kagami who replaced Izuna (who was in turn masquerading as Madara after killing him for his eyes). We do love Tobi; we do not hate Danzo (unless you're uneducated in the ways of sensible thinking).

After reconstructing his face, Tobi could have just put in a spare Sharingan. It's all moot since Obito's Zetsu anyway.

Holy long balls, well anyway yes but when fillers show up about a person, it usually means the next part of the storyline shall be about that character. (i.e Right before jiraiya fights with pain and dies, the filler before shows jiraiya's past with nagato aka pain and yahiko and konan)
during the kakashi gaiden filler..right after that in the storyline, the konoha platoon fights against tobi. see where im gettin' at?
Yeah, if you think obito is danzo your just downright stupid, because
1) Kakashi = Same age as Obito
2) Kakashi and Danzo same age? yeah your smart
3) Danzo lived back when the second hokage was alive, obito was not.
And the whole tobi is obito or madara. there are several choices here.
WHAT I THINK:1) 2 Tobis, one is obito one is madara and they're working together.
2) Only one tobi and thats madara.

and everybody's talking about who Tobi is then.

Now that spoilers out of the way...what's going on. Tobi has Rinnegan in his left eye, and sharingan in his right eye. Who knows who this could be..but oh wait, i have an assumption..it's OBITO! All my previous posts were about obito being alive and being tobi. So i COULD be right, but who knows? I'm just curious about the people who fought so hard to argue, that "Obito is dead! Tobi is madara!", have to say. No hate at all just your opinions )

I totally agree, people really should just let it go...but its probably not gonna happen till we know for sure who it is :/

Ok. Now we know that madara isn't tobi, we could now put these possibilities into order. Tobi is...
A)Obito (They never actually SHOWED obito died, and he has a sharingan in his right eye just like tobi. He had an empty socket due to giving his eye to kakashi, which he may have replaced with nagato's rinnegan) FIRST CHOICE
B)Aizen, i think is his name. Madara's brother. This guy could be it but, BOTH his sharingan were taken from him by madara. So i think this is unlikely.
C)Shisui, his one eye was taken by Danzo. His other eye, he gave to itachi, who gave it to naruto, then burned it with amaterasu.
I have no other idea who tobi can possibly be. Some say he's a part of Madara, which you know, could be true. i don't think so though. Some say it's Hashirama Senju (1st Hokage), i don't think that either. People leave your opinions, i would love to hear your theories and thoughts

I was just about to post a thought about Obito possible being Tobi, but then I just re-read the Kakashi Chronicles and... nope. There's no way that the boy who stood up for his comrades in that story could become so twisted as to try to take over the world. Sorry, but it ain't happenin'. ANY other Uchiha is more likely (except Itachi, whose amazing, or Sasuke who was being fooled in the first place).
What if it was there dad though? He might've convinced Itachi to place genjutsu on Sasuke so everyone would think he was dead. Maybe he was able to sneak away and plot his vengeance against Konoha. Itachi might've let him live if he didn't know about the 'world domination thing'. Probably isn't true, but hey! It's a theory that clears Obito's name. i'd love to hear a response on it.
