Why Don't More Ninja Use Weapons

we all know ninja in movies, history were masters of weapons. i would love to see more weapon usage in Naruto. i mean ya they all have kunai but where are all the other weapons? i think some weapons would fit in well with all ninjutsu/ taijutsu/ and genjutsu techs. make them accessable. seems like fodder characters use more weapons than main ones.

1# what ninja/ martial arts weapons would you like to see more of?

2# which Naruto ninja would you like to see using a weapon and what weapon?

for me
1# nunchaku/ tonfa/ ninja-to/ butterfly knives/ 3- sectional staff/ escrima sticks ( also called jo staves )/ sectional whip/ kusarigama/ sai/ chain/ nagato spear/ hook swords/ bo staff/ tetsuba/ tiger claws (wrist claws)/ kama

2# Kiba: i can see him using kama or tiger claws
Bushy Brow: either tonfa or nunchaku
Neji: jo staves or bo staff
Naruto: nunchaku or 3-sectional staff (it would be a great way to use wind techs)
Shikamaru: a whip type weapon to extend his shadow
Kakashi: ninja to
Sakura: tonfa or sai

Tenten uses all of them so no one else needs to use weapons

I've had this thought before, but not in relation to the Naruto series. I made a few of my favorite characters in Soul Calibur 3's character creation and had to think long and hard which weapon to give everybody. I gave Lee the Greaves/Maxi's Nunchaku style, Neji either the standard bo staff or Kilik's style, and Kabuto I set with Zasalamel's scythe style. Coming up with these few was pretty hard.

thought of a couple more

Choji: tetsuba
Shino: spear
Anko: sectional whip or rope & dagger, fits snake theme and could be a great distraction weap for genjutsu
Ino: warfan

P.S. Real ninjas couldn't use Rasenshuriken. Just saying. Do Naruto ninjas really need weapons? Could the weapons even stand up to such massive jutsu?
