Naruto will not finish yet. Kishimito i think announced that it will end after about 3 years.
And if u r talking about the Anime i heard some rumors about Akipudden but i extremely doubt it. I am an Only-Anime Watcher so i only know the news about the Manga not read it

Technically by sales, One Piece is more popular, but never mind that at the moment.

Kish said last year I think? That the manga had 2 or 3 more years to run, and we're a year into that, so another year or two is on the cards. Depending on how Kishi wants to develop the story.

actually only in Japan is One Piece more popular. Worldwide Naruto is the most popular manga. North America and Europe state that Naruto is their best selling manga

sorry i also forgot to mention that by volume 47 Kishi stated that the series isn't even halfway over yet, but that was years ago so it might be halfway done by now. unless its like bleach and One Piece which continued after their war and their creators said it was halfway done and has about 10 plus years left

Shippuden can't run forever. For me it seems like it is getting to it's close. But, there may be anothers series.

Worldwide it's the best selling Weekly shounen manga ever, this is lumping together sales both inside and outside Japan - which is the point the OP tried to make, is that Naruto is the most popular Manga in the world (Incluing Japan and the US and EU) when it's being outsold by One Piece overall.

Sure NA and the EU have Naruto as it's best-seller, but as I said, overall One Piece has the world wide majority of sales, out selling all past and current manga - a title previously held by Dragonball.

Now back to the topic:

I can't even find that info, but however I did find a interview from Jumpfest 09 from Kishi (When Vol 47 was released in Japan) where he stated he didn't know how much longer the manga would continue. - they also said something about planning for the 10th anniversary and that Shueisha Co. opening in England, but beyond that...

I do remember the interview where he said 3 or 4 more years was a good time span to have (This was a year ago I think, saw it translated and linked on this site somewhere..) for the end of Naruto, more so considering the latest manga chapters as well, most plot points are covered only a few remain.

i just looked up last year and didn't find anything related to when its going to end. i saw a lot of fake ones though. Each time a new Naruto games comes out they always say the best selling manga worldwide and most popular anime/manga. Naruto outsells One Piece worldwide, which makes it the best selling manga worldwide. One Piece doesn't sell well in NA and EU, only Japan. the most a One Piece manga ever sold was about 3 million in Japan and Naruto sold at the most 1.6 million in Japan. Naruto is listed as the best selling manga for all of NA and EU, so of course it would be named beat selling manga worldwide

@Zabuza http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masashi_Kishimoto

look under works and add up the numbers and it comes out to 288 million sold worldwide. while One Piece is at 240 worldwide. DBZ is past 300 million sold worldwide, so Naruto is catching up to it

Even if it's popular, I'd rather Kishi end's it on his terms instead of making it a money milking money cow just for the sake of the Name.

Other than Tobi and Kabuto as the last villains along with Sasuke there is literally no-one else. I'd rather not have Kishi do a Bleach for example, Ichigo lost his powers and defeated the enemy that Kubo took nearly 10 years to build up to GOD like status, that is the end in my opinion.

But Naruto has this last war, very few plot holes that kishi has left unanswered:
Who is Tobi really?
What has Kabuto really got planned for this war?
When and how will Sasuke vs Naruto happen and end?
What has become of Yamato? We still don't know that at the moment.

There is literally, nothing else left, unless Kishi opens up some Uber hax0r chest of tricks. But hey, I'm not wanting it to end as much as the next Naruto fan, I'm just being realistic.

Kishi has said he'd like to do a spin-off of Minato - that's about as close to another series as you'll get. If it turns into Pokemon with endless series I will never forgive Kishi if he decided to do it, or Studio Pierrot for continuing after the manga finishes. It would destroy the series.

As for the bit in bold, it hasn't been confirmed by either the studio nor Kishi.
