Astonishing X-men Motion Comic

If you love X-men like myself, then I'm sure you've probably seen the 6 part motion comic they did of the Astonishing X-men. (If not it's on Netflix AND Hulu, go watch it.)

If you have no idea what i'm talking about then... well you suck but i'll explain anyway. They basically took 6 issues of Astonishing X-men and animated them. (Volume 3, the gifted arc if you really want to know.) It's not straight animation, it's like stop motion, however it keeps the original artwork from the comics which is a rather compelling idea if you ask me.

I was actually surprised when i watched it. I'll be blunt, I'm not a huge Astonishing fan, I've always been die hard Uncanny and I prefer the older issues and spinoffs vs alot of the newer takes. I also don't like Emma Frost as of New X-men #138 so I really didn't think I'd be able to get too into it since the featured characters aren't any of my absolute favorites.

That being said, surprise surprise, I actually really enjoyed it. I think it translated well for anyone who's a fan of the comics. Not only that but the scenes with Colossus and Kitty, amazing. I'd have to say this actually made Shadowcat bump up like 12 spots on my list.

Anyone else seen it?

Dude... have you not heard of back issues? Srsly, get with it yo! Also they sell books that are comprised of several issues so you don't have to collect each one... they only cost like 60-100 dollars, totally worth it though.

This is where I usually try to pull the old con of: buying comics is saving for the future!

That's what I used to tell my ex-boyfriend and he believed me and would buy me back issues all the time convinced that we would actually make a profit someday

I am pretty sure a subscription to Marvel Digital comics is a much better option than buying the anthologies. All the comics over the internet - costs less and you get more.
