I was just watching episode 215 because I am a massive fan of not just sasunarusasu, but more importantly their friendship and the amazing barrage of thematic topics that they develop both as foils and as comrades. So when I read that scene in the manga, I of course loved it - especially the visual metaphor of switching places, and that's all well and good, and I'm getting way into the episode, seriously getting my fangirl on, as well as a large part of my nerd, when suddenly, BAM: "The reason is because."

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

The reason is NEVER because!! I had that fact of grammar so ingrained into my brain in ap english that the entire moment was ruined for me by that line of subtitle! Just ask my roommate, I scared her with my sudden exclamation. xDD

I could understand that maybe in other situations it could be intentional cuz naruto is supposed to be a bit of an idiot, but not in such a dramatic scene!!! The mistake was glaringly distracting (to my conditioned brain at least. xDD)

Sorry, I don't mean to berate you all for doing a wonderful job, but just make sure such grammar doesn't make it's way into future releases of massively dramatic moments? Please? For me? xDD

Well Naruto isn't going to be extremely gramatically correct, he's Naruto after all. Plenty of people say at least a few things that go against grammar, so it's no surprise that he does. Still I see what you mean.

Who knows, maybe Viz will read this and Naruto will start using big words like antidisestablishmentarianism.

...Dialogue is often not grammatically correct in order to make it more realistic. I really don't see the problem, and I'm all about correct English.
