private messages not going through!

Hi, it's really strange when I write a private message to someone only part of it goes through...even though I can see the full message in the preview. This has never happened before....

You using any of the alt codes or special characters?

Certain characters don't appear on this forum. So that character and everything after it gets cut off

thanks for the prompt reply. No im not using any special characters....but now you have said this..I noticed that the message is cut off at a punctuation mark!! this is strange because we use them all the time in the forum

Certain punctuation marks don't work with the forum.

Make sure it's a straight line, like this one; '
If it's not, Press cntrl+shift and type it again.

thanks for the suggestion but the way it's cutting off my text is completely random... it's cutting at apostrophe '...but we use that in the forum all the time!

Are you typing your messages up in a program like Microsoft Word by any chance?

Are you writing in another program and then copying and pasting? If so, that's the problem.

Thanks Sage Mode and AshenREAPER, I just figured that one out...somebody else had pointed this out in the forum and yes it's probably caused by the copy/paste from MS word!

Solution: just type it up in the Private Message editor. Writing messages in Word is going to create problems because it includes hidden characters that cause messages to be cut off.
