I don't see many people discussing certain aspects of the chapter.

I, for one, didn't know that it was Karura's love that allowed the sand to protect Gaara, nor that that was possible. It's a nice touch, though, regardless if it doesn't have too much explanation.

It was also pretty good that Gaara got to know his mother loved him. Gaara's dad admitting he made a mistake was probably an understatement, but he is dead after all. I wasn't quite expecting Gaara to cry like that, but unlike so many other people here I didn't mind. He did have the other Kage immobilized, after all.

I'm more interested in Mu VS Onoki than Dojutsu VS Jinchuriki. Naruto and Nagato already fought, so he'll probably be fighting Itachi, and that's certainly interesting. But, I'm a little more interested in seeing the true extent of Mu and Onoki's powers, since they've had so much hype. If they hadn't removed themselves from the battlefield tons of people would've been destroyed in the process of their fight as collateral damage. Onoki has been stated a few times now to be the only one to stop Mu, and right now he's losing. Of the five Kage, Onoki and Mei have gotten the least screentime, and I'd at least like to see Onoki have his "one good fight" that every side character in Naruto gets and prove why he's still Kage after living so long. Heck, if he dies fighting, it makes his fight one of the most important in the war for being the first Kage casualty. Also presents us with a Mu flashback: As Mu and Onoki beat each other simultaneously we see Mu and the Second Mizukage killing each other.

Nagato and Itachi have, after all, recieved a fair amount of exposure. I mean, they're both important and powerful, and Kabuto probably has a good purpose for them given how they've been on the sidelines (Naruto and Killerbee probably weren't part of Kabuto's plan since they were the ones to engage the Dojutsu Duo). And, in terms of dialogue, there's a lot of places to go since Naruto's picked up a lot of his motivation from his past talk with Nagato and Naruto's problem with Sasuke is a result of the truth of Itachi. Also, Itachi's gift, as always. But I'd rather see the side characters wrap things up before that happened. The side characters of Naruto all have their own stories to tell about this war, and I don't want to see the story of Naruto continue until Onoki gets his.

But it looks like that'll happen regardless. I've already stated most of what I'm looking forward to: The dialogue and the action. Nagato, among his influence on Naruto, also has no knowledge of Konan's death, and I'm certain he's not doing too well since he died to end the cycle of hatred and war that he's now a pawn of. (Well, more like a knight or a rook, given how he's very powerful and crucial to Kabuto's forces.)

Itachi doesn't know yet that Madara successfully told Sasuke the truth, and Kakashi and Yamato and Naruto. Particularly Naruto. Naruto can talk about how Sasuke's changed since he learned the truth, but he can also talk about how he personally feels about it. Technically, we've never learned what Naruto thinks about the choice Itachi made and the hardships he had to face, finally fighting and dying against his own brother. As a matter of fact, this is almost the opposite of what Naruto's believed, since when Itachi said Sasuke could attack the Leaf and might have to be killed, Naruto promptly responded by saying he would stop Sasuke without killing him. Itachi had a similar choice, but on a much larger scale, because his family was going to attack the Leaf, and there was no other way but to kill them. What does Naruto have to say to that?

Now that I've thought about it, that's probably what I'm most looking forward to in the next chapter.

Nonetheless, great chapter indeed. I'm pumped to see Itachi and Nagato in action. I'd like to see the conclusion of the battle between Mu and Onoki, though. :/

well it does have a connection to Gaara being able to be very powerful after he lost his Jinchuriki. now its very possible or even likely he's inherited or been given Karura's powers but didn't know it until his father told him.

i thought Gaara crying was completely valid. he had just found out everybody who he thought hated him, his own parents and mentor, never did, and how his father was behind it all. he even had closure with his father after all of the awful things his father did to him and admitted to. if you're not going to be in tears over that then you probably don't have emotions at all. i can't imagine anything else being more emotional to anyone than something like that.

thing i don't really get is every other dead person that came back to life had to have been in bad shape too when they died, but they seem fine now. where as Nagato seems to be the only one lookinig haggard. but again i guess they didn't show him that much during the Pain arc without being strapped into the Gedo statue. at least i can't remember them showing Nagato walking freely other than when he was a kid.

That's cool.Gaara is still Bad-Ass tho.He just showed his sensitive side.He also showed how much power he actually had without Shukaku.That in itself is pretty awesome.

Agreed. I don't understand how people see this as something Gaara shouldn't have done. This battle has been the most personal battle Gaara has ever had to fight and will ever fight, and at the end Gaara came to the realization that he was truly loved by his family. Some people say he's less badass for it, but I honestly think he's badass just for being able to cry in the middle of a war because he already took care of everyone else.

The people revived get their clothing and lose their dying injuries, but the thing about Nagato is that he couldn't walk for so much of his life. The DNA Kabuto took should've fixed that, but I guess it's just a permanent thing, like a Kekkei Genkai.

THE GOOD: I liked how we finally get to see a Dust Release battle; I'm looking forward to the further development of this confrontation. The damage to the desert was awesome. Mu is obviously badass, although I can see how the Second Mizukage, being a genjutsu specialist, could've beat him. I also like how certain mysteries concerning Itachi might come to light soon (for instance, his gift to Naruto). And perhaps soon we will see Sasuke back in action (although really I doubt it). I think Bee might go down here, which would fit into my theory concerning Naruto (namely, that he will eventually become the bijuu's jinchuuriki).

THE BAD: The flashbacks, they burnz! Gollum!

THE UGLY: Not part of the story, but in one of the intro color pages, why was Sakura watering watermelons in a bin with some empty soda bottles? Does that make sense to anyone? No? I didn't think so.

Yeah I've been thinking about the Naruto/Bijuu and that is a huge possibility.Or Naruto just imprisons them all in a secret location using a space time type jutsu.

I prefer it when characters show their emotions. Especially someone like Gaara and what he has been through. I think hes more badass because of it and what he done during the current battle.

Makes you wonder why Kabuto was wanting to examine Sasuke so bad when he made the deal with Madara.

That's mostly what stories are all about. There are internal and external conflicts, and the actions made towards resolving both typically have emotional influence behind them. Especially internal conflicts. I thought this chapter was pretty good. Not great, but fairly moving.

Still I'm irked that Sai Shaft is not pictured in it (He has his name written on the paper but c'mon give him a background shot at the very least. Sai Shaft deserves to be a member of Team 7 FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR more than Sasuke does.)

It's sad that his name's not even on that piece of paper. It says (Sa) and (Na), which I'm sure stands for Sasuke and Naruto. What a shame that Kishi puts Sasuke back in a picture with Team 7, but who knows, maybe he's implying that Sasuke will come back.

He does love his Uchiha's.

Itachi will put Naruto in a world of pain with Tsukuyomi.....making him believe he is fighting, or pinned down like B was against Sasuke's MS. This is only used for a distraction to take B.

The Kyubbi may or may not help him here. After he wakes up, B's gone/dead.

This has to be where B goes down.......surely.

this chapter was amazing and as for people saying he not badass anymore. oh please he better ninja now than he was a little kid and he killed his father with ease. not to mention all the kages in the world have massive respect for him and no one sees him as a monster anymore so get over it.

as for the naruto and killer bee vs itachi and nagato battle I think naruto is going to reveal everything what sasuke has been up too since his death and itachi is going to reveal all of his plans to naruto and about his gift to naruto. plus maybe a lot of info about madara uchiha.

i think I alot of things missing about the uchiha clan and the mystery sorrounding madara uchiha will finally be revealed. in the next few chapters. since i bet itachi will know the most about madara uchiha.

I agree with the others I do think they might be the end of killer bee when itachi and nagato battle with killer bee and naruto. you have to be fool to think itachi and nagato won't stand a chance against naruto. they be a troublesome for naruto and bee for sure.

I do hope somehow itachi and nagato escape from kabuto jutsu edo tensie and every jutsu has a flaw.

itachi cannot die again before he meets sasuke. I do believe sasuke is going to show up very soon.
