How do YOU define "fodder?"

I kinda have to agree. Yes she's a Jonin, but we can't assume she's some badass with amazing abilities because of a title. I mean hell, Neji's a Jonin and he couldn't hold a candle to Lee, who's a chuunin, or any of the other real Jonin. (Asuma, Kakashi, Gai, ect.)

Well so is Itachi, but we can't assume she can rival his abilities in any way at all. Mainly because assume makes an ass out of u and me.

Yes, But she has no skills, and no feats besides that. So, If anyone were to get out of her genjutsu during a fight, then She would be dead.

I think you are overgeneralizing that.
Do you consider Kakashi and Guy fodder. They are not Kages they are Jonin.

Kage Level, and being a kage are different. Tsunade is a kage, but isn't Kage level. Kage level means someone like Naruto, or Gai, or Killer B.

Shizune is fodder when not fighting on a team of 4 or more.
Sakura is fodder when facing a ranged based oppenent if they can keep her far away.

If a character is fodder, you're in the BG Shika, it means they're just food for another characters who're leagues above them in strength, and Shikamaru is fodder to basically everyone else.

If you were in the Town Bookstore, then maybe your definition would be correct. But you're not.
If someone made a thread called Naruto fodder vs Bleach fodder then yeah, unnamed characters vs unnamed characters.

I wouldn't call any named character fodder in terms of plot really anyway.

Fodder is a character who stinks in battle... they dont have to be nameless like characters that can get there butt handed to them in a box by a stronger character... fodder would be someone part 1 Sakura could mop the floor with...

fodder is used 2 much for people with great battle attributes and it does get annoying when there is not a good reason provided on y they r fodder.

People that would have no noticable effect to the plot if they died. Usually nameless or people that just exist to be defeated, or killed. Such as the tailed beasts that aren't Naruto, Gara, or Killer bee's Beasts. People have said that Konohamaru is fodder, that isn't true. If you can't find the sibolism in his character that you have no right to call him fodder. The same hapens with many other characters. In the origonal Naruto people said Kabuto was fodder, but look at him now! That is my definition of fodder. So Shikamaru is definitaly not foder, to my standards.

Just off the top of my head, fodder is anyone whose abilities are noticeably below those displayed by their peers and/or other characters present in context. Like Tsunade in any context concerning her fellow Sanin and/or the other Kages.

Like Shikamaru in any context that involves characters stronger than Moegi and Udon.
