Nintendo NEVER let us down. Not with the N64, GCN, or even the Wii. I'm not gonna break a sweat. Plus, that controller and what you can do with it is badass.

The diagram was made by making a 1080p image and drawing rectangles at the sizes of each resolution.
Then the diagram was cut/pasted into a larger resolution image and the text was added.
So, the diagram is perfectly to scale.

The Wiiu resolution and settings were taken from the recent IGN article where they built a Wiiu.

If it is not standard out of the box, it will not ever catch on. 3rd parties will develop games that the lowest common denominator. Lets use FPS as an example because that is the easiest.

Single player: Simple, use the screen control maybe even with those goofy gun setups if you like.
However, Wiimote/nunchuck and classic controls will also be supported with loss of feature on the screen. Maybe maps or inventory and stuff.

Multiplayer Online: It is the same as single player. I assume Nintendo will try to get this right and not make it too cumbersome to find friends.

On the same console:Either no support or Wiimotes and classic controls only.

All this together isn't horrible, but is a bit of a shame if you have friends with the console. Then agian buying 4-5 $100 controllers isn't that appealing either.

Our basic premise is that you can use one with a system. If we got to an idea of having multiple (controllers) it might be just more convenient for people to use their Nintendo 3DS and have a way to connect that.
That being said, we are doing research about if someone brings their controller to their friends house and they want to play together on Wii U to whether or not something like that would be possible.

Seems that two controllers might be in the works. I have to say I like the 3DS idea as well. That would give the Wii U's processor a break if it used the 3DS to display the graphics. This would make four player possible. I am think even if you can use two controllers, it will still only be two.
