Well I think its a good idea because people would have others give rep to them, Im glad there is a cap and getting rep from a Admin is honorable.

Ok I am just really confused and I've read so many posts all over the place and still don't understand.

What exactly is the difference between the green bars and rep power? and when I rep someone what happens?

The Green bars and rep power are an indicator of how many points you have. You would need X amount of points for a box and Y for increasing your rep power. There are other factors that increase your rep power such as membership(+1 for 180 days) and getting a certain number of posts(I think it's 5,000 now).

When you rep someone, they will get points equal to your rep power up until 5 in most circumstances.

And when you earn a completely different number of rep (that has nothing to do with the amount you need to get a bar) you earn rep power (which is how much you give to another person wen you rep them -with a cap of 5)...

So I'm assuming rep power takes more reps to get than a bar?

And you need a rep power of 3 before it effects anyone else?

2. It's a little weird to get at first,but the number of rep points you have affects your rep power. Usually getting another box would coincide with another rep power. The only difference between boxes and the power is they have two additional modifiers(membership and posts).

Which means that User A can have 5000 posts, 200 rep points and 5 rep power.

But User B can have 1000 posts and 200 rep points, but only 4 rep power.

As for the boxes, I don;t know how they work exactly, some people have 5 rep power and only 1 box. ._.

3. Not necessarily, it usually takes an equal amount of rep points to earn a box and more power.

4. As long as you have a power of 1, you can add or subtract points from anyone.

Some other limiter may be in effect. Are you sure everything else is in line, that you've received no d-reps that would otherwise nullify your gain?
