I'm sure in the event of low post-count, approval may be determined on affability, post-quality, and (possibly) length of membership. I can't qualify that statement, of course, but I'd think that's what uncommon sense would dictate, so I'd caution users to ponder for a moment about whether their forum imprint will be enough to warrant consideration or if they will be wasting time.

Again, this is my guess, not the word of the Image-Permissives.

I only recently asked since I contribute almost nothing of interest or import, so we'll see how I fare.

I am thinking to put some image in my signature but I doubt if it will be allowed or not. So, thank you for the post, at least I know what to do.

No. 300+ posts is the requirement.

I can understand not wanting someone with no intention of maintaning an ongoing relationship with the forum to bog down the admins (or you two) with requests to review pics to ensure that they are appropriate, but 300 ongoing posts is just encouraging people to post for the sake of getting their post count up. I asked a question in tech help, and had people posting in there that they couldn't help me just to get their post count up. I would tend to hope that there would be a happy median between the "post so that you can get a reward" and the "you need lots o' posts so that we have time to eat". Of course, knowing that kids are on this site, and having been the moderator on other sites I will say that there has never been an ideal solution that makes everyone happy. The closest that we got was splitting the "Report" into two sections... One went to the moderator for review due to inapproprate links, words, etc and the other would tick off a post as "not pertainent" and if enough folks (5 in my case) clicked that one then that post didn't count toward their total.

Posts actually play a small factor in deciding who gets sig image privileges. I know someone stated it in this thread earlier, but the only sure way to know whether you'll get sig image privileges or not is by asking. Though admittedly, the lower your post count and the newer you are, the less likely you are of being eligible for the sig image privilege.

As long as it's not so excessively wide that it stretches the post bit.

If you're already approved for siggies and your image(s) itself is approved, just type a letter or two (or paste the image link in) highlight it, then click the Image button (or use the [img] tags). In the link box (if you use the image button) paste your image location's link. Save the changes to your profile and thar ya be!
