What happened to fun?

I feel really bad for alot of you. I'm a hero with 999999 (or whatever the max is) bp and I gotta say only people who don't understand the full depth of the game have significant issues with spammers.

Spamming is not cheating folks.....plain and simple.

Secondly...I really hate to break this to you, but you are not mad at the game, and you are not mad at the so called "spammer". You are mad at yourself because you can not figure out for the life of you how to overcome someone who is better than you at the game. And it is frustrating (I understand this) because it "appears" so simple (even tho it's not) and it's hard to admit when you've been bettered (you can blame pride for this one).

It might help to approach the game differently (help you win, help your mental health, and help your t.v. if you are prone to throwing controllers). Spamming is a form of patterned behavior. If you follow any of the big tournament games: Street fighter series, MVC2, tekken, Smash bros, guilty gear/blazblue, so on and so forth, they are ALL subject to this situation. If you do X I'll do Y, and I'll keep doing Y to your X until you do Z to counter my Y. You have to figure out how to counter their pattern, and learn when to recognize it early on so you can counter swiftly for maximum benefit to self. I have not seen a pattern yet in the game I can not break.

This patterned behavior is like a thought pattern. It just so happens that your opponent's thought pattern is out witting your thought pattern. If you want a match with low levels of KnJ and lots of up close fighting without the proper set up for it, then maybe you should be playing low level fighters. Contrary to popular belief, just because the game seems simple (as in no intricate controller actions or memorized multi button combos) does not mean the game is not complicated.

When i'm playing player matches, I have fun and act like the biggest idiot in history FOR I AM THE GREAT DERP. on ranked matches, i use my old lady puppet powers to school the annoying high rank wussies who think they are better because they have top tier character. Bite my old flaky butt, jerks!

I agree with you. In the past two days 65-70% of my matches online have been against turbo users that combine spamming. when I'm far away they use their jutsu or their support to try and hit me but when I get close to them they start using turbo, needless to say I get frustated cause after they substitute it's either an ultimate jutsu or normal jutsu and that takes the fun out of it so I would leave. On top of that afterwards they send you hate mail for leaving and act like they are the best storm players ever when in actuallity you can find Genin and lower ranks that are better.

You know what you are right, spamming is not cheating and it is a legal part of a fighting game in any tournament. BUT you also have to realize that any decent gamer knows that most fighting games are broken and unfair in some way. It's almost imposible to make a fighter completely even. And even if they do it won't be fun because everyone will be the same. The problem with spammers is that IT'S JUST NOT FUN PLAYING THEM!!! What they do ANYONE can do! It's freaking brainless. And yes there is an way to beat them but the point is.WHY!!! If I'm playing for 1,000 dollars then yes I'll be sure to counter y with z and stop pressing x But if I'm sitting in my P.J's at home at 1 in the morning I don't want to have to play tournament level combat to get a fun fight. I don't care really if I lose or win as long as it's a good fight. This game was made for fans to enjoy it FOR FUN but I guess some people were just beaten as kids and don't believe in fun so they check tier list, find the best character with the cheapest and safest moves figure out all the nooks and crannies about a damn NARUTO game and decide to go online and make things hard for everyone else by becoming the highest rank possible to make themselves proud and bully everyone else about it. Not because we can't just because we don't give a SH** then they ridicule everyone for not being able to stop them when their entire purpose was to make sure noone could. As soon as we quit or refuse to play we get hate mail. C'mon man get real. Like I said before YOU DO NOT WIN MONEY FOR THIS at least try to see what it's like to not spam.

huh? Seeing as you only have two options when you enter a match (either to win or lose), isn't your objective to win the match? I mean why are you getting so frustrated about not winning if winning isn't what you are trying to do.....very confusing.

It just kinda sounds like you want people to hold back from how the game was intended to be played (by the creators) just so you can stand a chance to win. That doesn't sound very fun....there is no challenge in that, might as well just play battle mode vs. the computer.

Ok I'll calm down But I don't understand your point. If all you care about is win loss records then you'll make the game unfun. I don't mind losing even though I win most of the time My problem is the cheapness in most fighting games. You have to understand my pain here. Fghters are my all time favorite games, they were what I was good at as a kid and I fell in love with them. I hate when all people care about in fighters is what rank they achieve and how much better they are than lower ranked people. There is no real gain and besides if you take your rank so serious that you have to be cheap then I'm not the one who needs to be checking his attitude. Fighting games fans are becoming thin and for this reason companies are making less and less fighters or they are very far between. we get no downloadable content and almost no love. People are abandoning the genre. For someone like me this is a bad thing. The reason people are leaving is because they are wondering whats the point. Noone fights fair anymore noone shows any kind of technique or skill because eveyone is chasing the cheap win to boost their records. For god sake just check the leader boards you'll see things like 6000 wins and 2 loses. !!! Lower ranks don't stand a chance anymore and mostly I fight for them. All they are called are noobs or scrubs. No wonder they leave. Whats the point in practicing to pull off a killer combo so the next guy will respect your hard work and dedication to you fighter when come to find out all he does is the same move, no combos or juggles he wins then calls you a noob because you were fighting with technique and his win record is bigger than your.

Yes the purpose is to win but you don't have to be a Jerk to do it. Put it like this yea you won the race but you pushed the other guy down while the ref wasn't looking to win. All I wanted was a fun race But you needed that win so bad you made me feel bad about trying because I wouldn't stoop to your level. The creators made the game so it would be fun. Lose that and noone care about your win/loss record.

Okay okay....lets take a step back. It looks like we are not so different, and both completely misunderstood.

1st.....I LOVE fighter games too....I was happy when SS4 brought back street fighter, and now MVC3 is coming out. I am a huge Storm fan for multiple reasons. but yeah I like them just like you do.

2nd.....I play to have fun just like you do. I don't consider my tactics cheap....I consider them to be pushing the boundries of the game as the creators of the game intended it to be done. I like challenges, and there are some really good tactics out there. You call them cheap, but this is how the game was MEANT to be played. I like pitting my highly advanced tactics against other highly advanced tactics...it really tests the players skill level. The problem is, that unskilled players keep trying to call it "spam" or "cheap", and deem it unskilled when in fact they are the unskilled ones who can't cope with the intensity of the game.

3rd.....like you or the people you are fighting for I am a victim. I do NOT send hate mails to people I've beaten. In fact I get hate mails from people I've beaten cause they are bitter they lost. My record is not 6000 and 2, but it is 2400 and 180. Alot of people are spiteful of this and try to hate on me for it. I play to have fun, not to be called names cause I won.

There are two things I think have been misunderstood the most.

A. When I said I feel sorry for some of you, I was not looking down on you thinking I am better than you. I was actually feeling empathetic to your plight cause some people seem really frustrated over a game. When I said people should be playing lower calibur players that suited their own styles, I was actually being sincere.

B. What is fun for one person may not be fun for someone else. Doing combos and playing simple is boring to someone on my level. I've seen them all, and if I wanted to see them again the computer is ready and waiting 24/7 to help me with that. I play the 'competitive' online feature to have a chance to test my strength against other formidable foes. But this is obviously not for everyone

Yeah, but how do you justify someone literally only using supports and jutsus all match, without throwing a single punch? I'd hardly call that strategy...

Jutsu and supports can be used strategically. When an enemy chakra dashes at you use Choji to blast him back or use a UJ to get him.
