Freezing

Has anyone seen this anime? It's one of the new winter 2011 animes that started up about a month ago. At first I thought that I wouldn't like it but I've found that it's actually surprisingly awesome despite the ridiculous amount of fan service that it has at times. In the future, Earth is periodically invaded by aliens called Nova which have an ability to freeze the movement of anything within a certain range. To fight these Nova, women called Pandora are genetically implanted with "stigma" which gives them enhanced physical abilities and allow them to summon special weapons. And when these Pandora give some of their stigma to a male partner called a Limiter, the Limiter gains a Freezing ability similar to the Nova's, allowing them to cancel out the Nova's Freezing to allow their Pandora partner to fight and defeat the Nova.

The story itself follows a boy named Kazyua Aoi who has just transferred into the West Genetics school that trains Pandora and Limiters. He arrives during a live battle training session for the 2nd year Pandora and he sees the number 1 ranked 2nd year Pandora Satellizer el Bridget, otherwise known as "The Untouchable Queen" because she is violent towards anyone who touches her. Kazuya mistakes Satellizer for his sister who had died years ago while fighting the Nova and grabs onto her. Everyone in the room expects Satellizer to kill Kazuya, but she merely acts surprised instead and ends losing to another student who takes advantage of the situation and attacks her. Afterwords, Kazuya comes to believe that Satellizer might not be as violent as people think and decides to try and become her Limiter.

I agree, it's very awesome! After episode 7 especially for the plot. That was a pretty emotional episode.

I thought that same thing when I first heard about it, but I would recommend that you at least try it. While it obviously may not be a series for everyone, that short trailer and story excerpt really don't do the series justice.

The only thing that I would say is bad about the anime is the amount of added fan service from the manga. The fights are really awesome but there's a strong tendency for their clothes to get ripped off, like to the point of nudity that isn't even censored (I guess for some that could be a positive though ). I don't know how often that happens in other anime really but if you're someone that's offended by that or something then I would recommend watching it on youtube since Funimation has already been putting subbed episodes up, but they just took the time to add in censor bars and all that so they're a couple of eps behind the latest aired one. Or just read the manga because it hardly has any of the nudity in it and it has quite a few things that the anime has cut out so far.

It is really cool anime. It seems like it is progressing very fast though, so I don't see a second season for it.

What makes you say that? The manga is still ongoing so it could go into a second season.

There have been insane powerups in just a few episodes. No way they will have enough content to put in a second season based soley on the manga.

Yeah they can. They've got 12 episodes planned for the first season I think and they're on episode 8 right now. Sure there's definitely been some major powerups so far but up until now they've only been fighting each other. I don't think that what's going on in the manga right now is gonna fit into the last 4 episodes since they haven't even gotten to it yet unless they cut out a huge amount of the story.

I'm glad you like it, and yeah, the manga is better but the anime is still awesome in it's own way. And definitely agreed on those boobies lol.

It's possible to find the uncensored version if you really want to watch it uncensored.

Last Episode I was like "Oh my forking Gosh".

it's not Funimation's fault, actually. It's the broadcaster's doing. Funimation is just showing what they get.

Agreed with all of those statements. Or most of them anyway, I don't like Creo as much as some of the others. I still like her though. XD

The last episode was really good, but if I remember right I think they shortened up that fight at the end there from the manga version. I don't mind the change in location for that scene but I think it was a little more dramatic in the manga. I'll have to go back and check though. Otherwise it was an awesome episode.

Well that's technically not true. There is both a censored version and an uncensored one that are both being aired on tv. Funimation just chooses to air the censored version on youtube and their website since naked boobies are a bit of a problem for a big company like them to show on the internet, you know?

I wish I could give you guys the website that I watch the uncensored version from but I don't think we're allowed to post links here for anime streaming websites. If you do a google search or something though you should be able to find a website that has it. The uncensored version is also an episode ahead of the censored version so that's one more reason to watch it.
