Thought of a idea,

What about if this forum has it's very own chatbox. Where members can chat instantly about anything. This is very similar to the off-topic section but instead of having to go through the forums and having to find the thread, you can just immediately chat.

The chatbox can be located at the bottom of the naruto discussion forum page.

There is a chatbox for the Moderators, but other than that people just use this place called tinychat in otfer to immediatly chat.

Nope on a large forum like this it would cause problems, links can't be edited, posts in there can't be infracted, and so on and so forth. Basically we can't have it because
1. People on this site really aren't mature enough to follow rules, and eventually flame wars will break out
2. This is a Viz owned forum so anything that is missed in chat history and such could cause a potential problem.
3. There are other places (such as tinychat) that you can use free of worry from getting in trouble, and is a much better alternative than having a chatbox.

This idea was rejected mostly because of the reasons J-Sun stated. This site prohibits Naruto or any VIZ related images, and most members don't read the rules so we could run into a problem with picture/link posting.

Also, not all moderators have access to the Chatbox. Only certain ones that are given individual permissions. The link I have provided up top of the post is where most of the members chat.

It isn't a bad idea, it's just not for this forums. I'm sure if we had less trouble makers it would be able to go under a few tests with normal members, but even then it would probably be too hard to moderate everything.

Probably not. The main concern on this site is that we have people posting images that sometimes we miss. Copyright infringement could get the site closed down. Wouldn't look too good for Viz either.

It's not trolls. People just post pictures without knowing. Official websites like this are hard to manage. Especially when a lot of Anime are spoken about and the vast majority of popular manga belongs to VIZ Media, it's hard.

Not because of trolls. That's like a secondary thing. Trolls are easier to spot. Illegal images can be posted virtually anywhere on the forum, and the images may be missed sometimes because of lacking of reports and such. We can't get it all. But images are one of the primary reasons this is and will not be possible.

Week days most people are on there around 8ish, Fridays it's usually like a Monday, and weekends are around 9 or 10pm or around lunch (but only for a few hours). Oh and no prob.
