Staying logged on?

I seem to be having trouble with the log in feature. Everytime I try to post, it says I need to log on, and even when I click the "Automatically Log me On" box, I always have to log on when I visit this site. Help?

Alot of people, myself included, have been having that problem. We've been working it out with others here:

The jist of that thread is that we're making an overarching login box that's going to work over the top of all the site stuff. This should fix it, and will hopefully be available soon.

couldn't you guys just set a cookie? If someone doesn't have javascript enabled, then use a server side cookie.

I'm having the same problem with having to log on multiple times, I had to log on at least five times before getting to post.
I just registered with the forums, and am already having this problem.
Its telling me to log in, and when I click 'Return to previous page' it makes me log in again.
Is there anything I need to do that will help?

Not sure what to tell you, as this is an issue that's supposed to be fixed in due time. But for what it's worth, it was happening to me left and right earlier this morning while I was using Firefox, and then I switched over to Google Chrome and it hasn't happened once.

I can confirm google chrome seems to function as a workaround.

considering something like 45% of the world uses Firefox and another 45% of the world uses IE...most people don't even know what Chrome is. Besides, if it works on Chrome, it should work on Safari since I hear they run off the same engine.

Yes safari should work as it and chome have the same backend engine, again the mods can't modify the servers cookie domain and the people who installed the bbs left everything default for a top level domain. As chome seems not to mind the error in the cookies, safari shouldn't either.

Not meaning to interrupt, but, something else that might help those of you still being 'logged off' - If it happens when you've just typed a post or pm, before you hit the 'submit' tab, copy what you've just typed. That way, when you log back in, you can just paste it back in... I can't take credit for this idea - another friend of mine suggested this to me and it really saves time...
