Chapter 1

Long ago, deep in the forests of Inimami, a demonic tribe was dancing near the giant fire kindled by The Demon King, Judas, planning a way to destroy the Akono village, and claiming the land as their own. As the demons sat by the fire waiting for the him to speak, a dark figure rised from the rocks and gazed upon the fire. His voice bellowed from all corners of the forest from his large mouth, his claws glimmered in the fire's light as he raised his bear-like hands above his hands. " My demonic brothers and sisters, I have come up with a plan to, destroy the Akono village, once and for all! Our beloved Prince Ranku, will destroy their precious Princess Laraina tonight. This will destroy their hope and claim us our victory!" the king screamed. As other demons cheered to the plan, a tall, angered figure leaps out from the trees to the demon bonfire. Ranku steps to the crowd with his head high, raising his fox ears proudly, like he had defeated an army. Ranka was handsome, charming, white skined, red-haired fox demon. His spiky hair formed a crown on his head, his arms long and muscular, his nails sharper than a tack, his legs were strong and healthy, as those of a horse, and his tail like a whip that shot swiftly through the sky, whenever he flew. He had been training for this night when he took out his revenge on the one's who had killed his father. As he stood above the crowd, he said "I'd be happy to finish off their hope and dreams of standing againist us, for what they did to my father, our past king." The demons hissed and booed against the memory of the death of their mighty king, Sandu, on their fire attacks against the village which burned to the ground 6years,as they found that their mighty king was killed by the villagers of Akonho. " Yes" belowed Judas. "We remember what those no-good villagers did to our beloved king, drove a sharped staff into his back, and ran it right through him, that's why we have this war against them, to avenge our King!" The crowd cried, as they put the thought of victory and vengence against the villagers of Akonho. The thought of the victory over the humans rang thru their heads as a day of pure celebration, which was silenced by Ranku's words, "I'll go now, and I will silience the Princess, and the hope of the villagers, once and for ALL!" The crowd roared with cheers. Judus grabed Ranku by the arm and whispered in his ear "No, my Prince, you must wait until everyone is asleep, then strike when noone is gaurding the Princess, and bring back her heart as proof of your deed, do you understand, Ranku?" " Yes, I understand, uncle." Angered with his uncle about having to wait to seek his revange. The crowd roured through the skies and faded as the night carried on. It was midnight, Finally! The village was right in his sights. Before he raced on those shining, dew-covered braches, Ranku whispered to himself: "Pay back time, you jerks!"

" It is time for bed, Princess!" the servent screamed as if she found a demon in her bed. It was almost midnight and Laraina was looking out her window into the forest beyond, trying to get a glimpse of the Demon tribe hiding somewhere in all the trees of the forest. She was thinking of the night again. The night haunted her like the bad memory it always was. Why would they do that to him? she wondered. How can anyone live with themselves after doing such treason like that? I hope whoever that was he will pay full price for the crime he commited to such a good soul. " You are late for bed, Princess! You must prepare!" The head Maiden, Ceana, screamed. " I know, Ceana," responded Laraina, " I'm getting ready." Laraina was the flower of the kingdom. Everyman wished she was their's and everywomen wished she was Laraina. Her long, calm, brown hair and rose-like lips complimented her lifegiving face and gleaming blue eyes. Her curved body had all the boys chasing after her day and night for the past six years, and ,even before, she was beutiful. Pf all the treasures in the village, she was the most charished, but all the praise in the world could never replace the horrish memory that was coerced in her brain. She could never forget it, no matter how badly she tried. " I'm going to bed, Ceana, don't fret your head off." " Don't you talk to me in that voice, young lady!" shouted Ceana, "You mybye the princess of Akona, but I'm still your head maiden and your father entruseted me to protect you from all dangers, including that horrid Prince Ranku and that disgusting tribe of his." "I always thought he was handsome." the princess whispered to herself.
"What was that, Princess?"
"Nothing." Laraina was surprised she was heard. Ceana has never used those deaf ears of hers since the day with the gong. Someone rang the gong in her ear and she could never hear that good since. It was a miracle she could hear even a hint of what Laraina whispered about Ranku. Ceana was the size of a house and she had a huge wart on the side of her face where her cheek bone was. Her hands were the size of a man's face and her hair was unbearable. If no one thought of her as a women, they would've thought of her as a bear or a giant pig. When she snored, you could barely hear anything else. Laraina got away form her window and into her bed in the middle of the room. "Ceana, will you sing me a lulliby like you used to?" It had been a while since Ceana had sing Laraina a lulliby. Inspite of everything else, Ceana's voice was that of an angel. Singing one lulliby would put Laraina to sleep in an instant. Ceana's singing was only neccessry for Laraina whenever she was thinking of the nightmarish night of the fire in Akona, when the Demon king, Santu, saved her from her burning room in the old castle before the old buildings had been burned to the ground. " Just this once, Princess." answered Ceana. She sang sweeter than any bird and more graceful than she has in a long time. Laraina went to sleep.

The Demon Prince chapter 2

The prince was flying from branch to branch, down to the village to complete his misson and slay the princess, Laraina. All the trees were flashing past him and he only saw the animals as streaks of color below him. In his mind, all he could think of was the excitement of killing the villages hope and pride. It's what they deserve for killing my father! he thought as he rushed to the village like lightining.
He thought of the the night he saw his father dead, slain by the villagers he decided to save the night of the horrible fire that consumed their village, slain by the villagers whose princess was safe because of him. It angered him and filled him with hatred of great strength. He ran farther and faster into the forest, closer to the village, until he came to the castle wall that would protect princess no matter who it was: friend, foe, or otherwise. He was ready for this, just how ready?
He started to climb. Higher and higher he went. He started to remember what had happened during the early days of his training. After his lesson with Judas, he had suddenly decided to solve the problem the tribe had been trying to dispose of since the first arival of the Akohan villagers, by disposing the source: their king.
He thought with everything he was taught, he was ready to face the king and deliver him to the afterlife. He was'nt anymore wrong. He climbed the wall he believed lead to the room of the king, but instead met the princess of Akoha. Her vast beauty remains in his head like a dagger. She was the most beautiful women he had ever seen, even more beautiful than his mother, whos beauty even outshined the village's deceased queen, Diana.
She was also the strongest princess he had ever faced. She threw a pillow after he sneaked into the window while she was getting dressed, that almost sent him flying out of her room and falling towards his doom. If he did'nt grab for the nearst gab in the wall, he would've met his demise far beyond his time. He remembered the shame he brought to the tribe after he had to run from the gaurds of the castle. The only time anyone ever talked to Ranku as a prince instead of a fool was after a year of imensive training. He kept climbing only to stop at the edge below seeing range, in case anyone was in there with her. He would'nt want to mess up this mission because of being too rash and impatient. When he was sure no one else was in there, he peaked in through the window and looked around the room. The room was marviosly decorated with the stars all around. There was a beautifully crafted bureu with a mirror of silver reflection lying on a wall in the bedroom. The carpeted floor looked like a dark, pitch-black sea that went on forever. Even the blank, wooden door looked could'nt be seen as clearly as it was surrounded by great beauty. Every piece of furniture in that room looked like they were crafted by the villagers God and his angels. The bed was just pointing out there and looked as if it was floating in midair as if it was a boat carrying precious cargo with no one to gaurd it, as if the sailor died before the boat reached land and now it was floating on and on until it finally hit land. Ranku climbed in through the window only to find himself sliding across a small working table and grabbing a vase holding a flower with his tail. He gently slid off not to make a sound, and safely placed the flower back to it's origanal spot on the table. The room was magnificent. It would have been an honor to spend a night with the princess for a mere mortal, but for a demon it would have been an act of betrayal and disgrace. Having a Akohan for a friend would be going against all the demons stood for. It would make them look soft after everything the Akohans' did to them. Ranku could'nt stand the thought. It angered him how such a beautiful room belonged to someone who got his father killed just by being saved by him. She should be punished for what she did to him just by being in distress he thought, Why could'nt he just let someone else save her or at least let her save herself?
He walked towards the overly covered bed. His claws shrapened when he just got to the edge. He grabbed the covers and ripped them off with a vengence. The clouds revealed the moonlight that somehow got into the room and revealed the princess's face before Ranku could strike and Ranku froze.

Chapter 3

The princess was beautiful and it was paralyzing just by looking at her. It was like he was frozen in solid ice, he could'nt move. She gleamed with the moonlight and looked like an angel. How could he kill an angel? Laraina was exactly how Ranku remembered her from their last two encounters: flawless skin, beautiful eyes, hands of gentle skin, and and hair of long, brown, gleaming grace.
If Ranku was'nt supposed to kill her, if would have carried her away from their feuding worlds and married her on the spot if Laraina would have him. But how could she have him? It was impossible. Having a demon for a friend alone would be crazy. It would have brought shame to the very village, if the word spread. Any princess would be crazy to fall for a demon, even one as charming as Ranku.
Besides it would be abandoning his tribe and his teachings as the demon prince. It would be abandoning the vow he made to avenge his father's death, no matter what. Ranku would have never lived with himself if he broke his vow. If he even returned after doing such a thing, he would have been hunted down and killed by his own brothers and sisters, not to mention his uncle.
Thinking about the fact it would be impossible for such a thing as a relaionship was enough to make his whole body bend in depression, and his heart drop completly to the floor.
Oh well, hethought, There are other girls just as pretty as Laraina, ones who are perfectly demon, fit right for me. But would they be just as fierce. He raised his hand and was ready to strike when he was stopped by the sound of a door opening and a hurdling scream sounded in the air.
" The demon prince is going to kill Princess Laraina! Guards!"
Busted. This was very bad. He had to get out of there while the goings good or else he will be hanged.
But first. He grabbed Laraina and ran for the window, knocking over the flower that he had placed on the table as he entered the room. It fell through the window to the hard ground as Ranku made his escape, and as he looked back at the flower he looked astonished at the princess and back. The flower the vace was holding back in the room was a red rose and there was a ring on the princess's finger that meant only one thing. The princess was betrothed to someone, but who. Whoever it was, Ranku knew Lariana's fiance would come looking for her and he would'nt stop until she was safe in his arms again, away from Ranku and his demons. Ranku did'nt know what came over him but he clinched his fists and started to growl in frustration as his heart started to hurt. It was a minor sense of pain but it was powerful enough for Ranku to feel. He landed on a branch and started to jump from branch to branch far from the palace, farther and faster than any of the guards could go.
Now that he had failed to kill her in her own castle, at least he could take her somewhere else so no one could witness Laraina's scheduled murder. He had to take Laraina somewhere no one could find them, so he could kill her there. He ran faster.

Ranku ran for miles without stop. The castle gaurds were not far behind on thier horses and to make matters worse they had the dogs out. Ranku had to get away, he had to escape somehow or else they would catch him and that would bring total disgrace to the demon kingdom his father once ruled. If he could just drop Laraina they would stop chasing him, however that was'nt the case. If he were to let her go it would mean abandoning the mission and dishonaring the word he made to his uncle and tribe to bring the princess's heart to celebrate their victory over the village of Akoha. Doing that would take the trust Judas had over Ranku and bringing her to his uncle would take away the chance to bring honar to his father's grave, for it was her fault King Sandu was dead. If Ranku's Fatehr had'nt gone off to save Laraina, He would'nt have been killed and Ranku would'nt have had to see him dead near her. Sometimes, he dreamed it was Laraina who killed King Sandu, not the villagers. But how could a little girl like Princess Laraina ever have the strangth or the courage to kill a Demon King, let alone a lion demon the size of Sandu. It did'nt matter. The question remains: Where were the villagers if they were the ones who killed him? And why was Laraina alone with the corpse when the murder happened? If it was Laraina who killed him, then how was this accomplished? How did she kill King Sanda? Magic? No, they would have shunned her for that and her own church would burn her to save her from the devil. But if not that, than how?
'There's no time to think that now, kill her!' Ranku's consious screamed in his ear. 'Kill her now and bring honar to your father. KILL HER!' Ranku knew his consious had to be right. There was no other option. He dug himself into the bushes, embraced the thorns that scrached against his skin and ran threw the forest.
