I like to think so. I'd think he'd have confidence in his brother that he wouldn't get killed by Deidara, but he also knows how powerful Deidara is, and the fact that he fought Deidara shows that Sasuke is actively searching him out and that it's almost time to end everything.

same for me only regarding the second part, i was neutral at first ( in fact i was telling a friend that Itachi would turn to be good and that he didnt kill his clan i was right to some extent ) but i was wondering why should any one be a fan of him

I have like Itachi even from when he wasn't good, I liked him on the bad side in the start of Naruto, though definately didn't mind finding out he was good though, made me like him even more, so he's always been one of my favourite Characters.

Sadly I have not gotten to far in the newer manga. I read the part where Itachi dies fighting Sasuke. I am stuck where the village is being attacked by Pain, so if he comes back to life...like I have heard a lot of characters do...then I have not read that yet...SO don't tell me please...^^ I always found his coolness with Kisame interesting. He is just so damn mysterious

Don't worry, I haven't myself got that much further than you with the manga, I am just past Pain's attack, so I just read Spoilers around the place to see what's coming up myself. ^_^

I find him rather secretive to at times, there's some we know about Itachi, though there isn't all too much known, just enough to make me want to like him a lot though, lol.

My favourite point to date at the moment would have to be, of what I know, any time while he's looking like nothing's happen in battle, like with Kakashi back in the original, here Itachi was just standing there, just like nothing had just happened, lol.
