The situation in Europe - Beginning of the war:
The year was 1939 and the national socialists had taken control of Germany, a country which had been allied to Alexshinia ever since the late 1800s. The Emperor of Alexshinia received word of the war against Poland two days before the invasion, and was offered to march with the Germans in "the greatest Eastern campaign in world history". Previous diplomatic conflicts with Russia since two centuries back made Alexshinia accept the offer, knowing that after Poland fell, Russia would be Germany's next target. Though, the Alexshinian forces sent into Poland was merely 2 000 men, supported by 30 armored vehicles and 14 aircraft.
The battle of Poland - No aid from the Axis:
For the Germans, Poland was a weak and easy enemy that offered no actual resistance. The most armed and armored tanks in existence met melee-equipped cavalry, so it was only natural for Germany to think that the Polish war would be over quick. Though, the Alexshinians did take every battle seriously. Though powerful, Alexshinia was not a modern war machine as they were still using swords and bayonets, making them a preferred target for the Polish counterattacks. The Battle of Poland was in fact a series of attacks and counterattacks during 9 days of September and October 1939, between the Alexshinian 6th regiment and the Polish defenders.
The battle was more difficult for the Alexshinians. With little supplies and ammunition, they were to fight a sixteen times larger army. Not to mention the difficult terrain and rough weather conditions. The Germans, though, refused to aid the Alexshinians during their battle, making the Alexshinian government more suspicious against the Nazi leaders.
Eventually, though, the Polish was forced to surrender and the Alexshinian soldiers was called home. They had only fought for 9 days, but they had lost 420 men to the enemy and another 26 to disease and injuries. Adolf Hitler, during a visit to Alexshinia, caused anger among the Imperial government when he said that "it doesn't matter, as the lives of soldiers are cheap."
Alexshinian ideology was greatly against such a way of thinking, as saving as many allied lives as possible had always been their signature strategy.
Alexshinia during the Russian invasion:
In June 1941, the Russians were attacked by Nazi Germany without warning. German troops marched past the Russian borders on all available fronts in what would become one of the greatest military operations in history - Operation Barbarossa.
The Emperor of Alexshinia "did not mind" a war against Russia and soon open war was obvious. Though, the Alexshinians made a deal with the Germans that they would not claim control of any Russian territory, but instead wanted the great levels of prestige and loot that would come from defeating a world-dominating great power.
For more details, this was the agreement:
. Alexshinian soldiers may pass German territory ONLY to continue the offense against Russia.
. Territory occupied by Alexshinian forces shall be given to Germany with no conditions.
. Any money or items looted by the Alexshinians are to be kept.
. German soldiers may pass Alexshinian territory ONLY to continue the offense against Russia and North Africa.
. The German leaders shall in media admit Alexshinia as a great power and equal ally.
All points of the agreement was followed until the Russian counterattack, where the Germans were pushed back and the Alexshinian soldiers were too few to hold occupied territory alone.
Pacific war - Alexshinia in Asia:
After many years of being provoked by the Americans, the Japanese Empire eventually decided to put an end to the dishonorable peace and launched an attack against the US naval base at Pearl Harbor. Alexshinia was quick to join its ally in the East and war against USA was officially declared at December 12th, 1941. Japan was a valuable ally for the Alexshinians, and during the entire war their forces fought together - both friends refusing to surrender against the oncoming enemy.
Alexshinia had been an ally of Japan during the Second Sino-Japanese War, but the Japanese made clear that they didn't need any help in the Asian mainland. Instead, the Alexshinian Asian Garrison was to be sent against USA. Australia and the British colonies were their goal. Just like during Operation Barbarossa, a standing decision that Alexshinia would not claim territory were made. Any territory that the Alexshinians managed to occupy was immediately put under Japanese flag (though Alexshinian soldiers stayed in Japanese forts for aid at many occasions). In exchange, the Alexshinians gained - apart from military prestige and better relations to Japan - access to many items looted by the Axis. The Japanese also sold schematics of some of their most classified weapons projects, such as the superior fighter Mitsubishi Zero.
Even if Great Britain was officially neutral to Alexshinia, many Alexshinian soldiers were a part of the Japanese offensive against Western colonies in Asia.
The Phillipines were first a target for invasion as the Japanese Imperial Army processed southwards, but the Alexshinian Asian Garrison convinced the Japanese not to attack the islands, but instead support a rebellion against the governing US garrison. Japan agreed to a compromise and soon, the Phillipines were free from the cruel American rule, and then joined the Alexshinian-Japanese alliance, putting all their effort into a revenge war against USA.
After D-day - A last stand in Europe
The invasion of French Normandie, also known as D-day or Operation Overlord, became a turnpoint for the Allies, that now could push further into France than ever expected. Alexshinia sent a fleet along the Western European coast in an attempt to silence the attack, but it was too late when the first ships arrived - tens of thousands British, American, and Canadian troops were already on the beach and more were coming.
It was obvious that France could no longer be held under control and the Alexshinien recommended that the Germans would withdraw from France, to instead build up an inpenetrable defense in their own country. Hitler personally refused to see his western front go lost and sent thousands of German soldiers into desperate counterattacks - all only resulting in more bloodshed for the Axis.
The Alexshinian Central European line became a powerful defense even without any actual help from Germany (though about a hundred German soldiers fought volunteerly in the Alexshinian fortification) - houses had been connected by large amounts of concrete, creating a powerful wall streching more than 400 thousand meters along the German borders. Behind the thick walls were huge batteries of heavy artillery and anti-aircraft guns, and the front was filled with poles, minefields, barbed wires, and trenches.
The Americans arrived first to the Alexshinian Line and made a massive direct charge, having no other effect than a large useage of ammunition for the defenders. Before any new tactics were tried out, 16 000 Americans had fallen before the mighty walls, and almost as many were injured.
The British was the first faction of the Allies to get past the line, and not through attacking it but simply moving around it - the Germans that were on the fort's flanks had little chance of stopping the huge attacks.
The Alexshinian Line was now surrounded, but could reinforce their rear defense by destroying several buildings in the city (civilians had been evacuated long before the battle begun), and use the raw material from the ruins to build up improvised stone walls. On the world map, the Axis Powers was not very powerful any more, as the Allied advance had occupied everything around the line of defense and the soldiers in it were running out of supplies. The siege lasted for 7 weeks before the defenders were forced to give up, being unable to call for reinforcements and completely out of ammunition.
But the Emperor of Alexshinia was still pleased with his soldiers' doings, as almost 20 000 Allied soldiers had been killed during the battle, while the Alexshinian losses were less than a thousand including injured and missing.
The German betrayal - Alexshinia surrounded:
Adolf Hitler personally visited the Emperor of Alexshinia in the winter of 1944 and demanded access to their natural resources as well as control of Alexshinian Hungary and Jugoslavia. The Emperor refused to meet the fuhrer's demands, and in desperation of gaining more power, Hitler attacked Alexshinia. Fascist Italy assisted Germany and landed in Alexshinian Greece with 7 500 men. Also, 4 000 Germans attacked from the north. Alexshinia was surrounded by enemies, Axis and Allies alike, and so they declared "white peace" with Russia to keep their northern territories safe, but any negotiations with USA was denied. Nazi Germany surrendered to the Allies the next year, and Alexshinia also made peace after the Nazi government had left their position of power. Peace had been made with Turkey 2 years before, and now the two countries were instead allied.
Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - A promise of revenge:
The war in the Pacific was a failure - despite superior skill, the Alexshinians were too few to stand against the Americans, while Japanese soldiers put too much faith in melee charges. Though, both defending factions fought to the end, causing the Americans heavy casualties. Eventually the President of USA ordered the launch of a new superweapon - the atomic bomb. Two of these devastating explosions appeared in the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing countless of innocent civilians. Japan eventually accepted a peace treaty, but the Alexshinian Emperor was furious of the American's way to end the war and sent a message to the Japanese leader, Hirohito:
"My friend, it is regretable what the Americans have done to your glorious nation. I myself mourn over the loss of all those lives. But fear not, action will be taken. As long as I still breathe, I swear that USA will not hurt anyone else again. I swear, that USA will be destroyed. This is a promise, from one Emperor to another - Revenge will be ours!"
No publicion of the Japanese response was made, though the Alexshinians kept fighting USA for 66 years - until today.
Fearing Alexshinia's illegal weapons featuring cybernetics and genetical enhancements, they do not dare to begin a war of superweapons and therefore keeps their nukes on the ground. Alexshinia, in turn, does not use their mass-destruction weapons but instead the two factions meet on various battlefields. Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq is three wars where the Alexshinians supported the anti-American factions.
