Naruto/Bleach Images

Every time I go into a thread in at least one person's sig it has a Naruto or Bleach image with a quote saying.

"This Image is aproved by Err and Maikeru Shirigami and is been taken by a Viz Media source like Hulu,Viz Anime,and ohter Viz media Sites"

I would just like to know what makes them okay to be in their sig.

IF you find an image of Viz owned content in a site such as Hulu,Viz Anime,and other Viz media Sites, it is okay. As long as you do NOT alter the image in any way, shape or form. I would send the image to Maikeru or Err first to get them approved, though.

We are putting a hold on people adding Viz-related images in their signatures for now. An issue came up and we are trying to address it before more people add these images to their signatures. They technically allowed since they come from a source like viz.com, vizanime.com and hulu.com-- all of which are legal sites, but once again, we are putting a hold on it.

Yup. We decided against them. Sorry guys, but there is too much confusion. People have already sent bad requests for Naruto images, people have been infracted for it, and people just plainly seem not to be getting it.

Just out of curiosity, has legal action been taken against the site in regards to copyright and posting VIZ owned images before on this forum? I've never seen a forum so uptight on this matter, but pics aside, I think I can deal with that one small sacrifice for being at such an awesome forum

Not that I know of. But since Viz has the rights to the anime here in the U.S. they are legally bound to strictly follow copyright laws.

Ah, I see.

I'm still against the whole copyright thing, though, IMO. I would love to have the ability to post some fanart, but alas I know I can't because of the rules. Especially in the context of fanart, it would have been awesome if it was taken as a compliment because the anime and manga is so awesome... it's actually flattering for someone to draw someone else's characters in a positive and artful way. I swear sometimes, people are so tightly wound...
