Reporting on a single downrep won't do any good. Idiot is a reason to downrep someone, in my opinion. This is supposed to be a user rating scale, so if a person doesn't like you, I don't see why they wouldn't be allowed to downrep you. Now if it becomes a habit, that's another thing.

I didn't know where exactly to fit this question, but I'll try here.

My rep power along with my image sig have mysteriously dissapeared. Why has this happened? I did nothing wrong and I didn't even receive a warning.

I'd prefer that an admin or a mod answers this because I'm sure that they know why.

They took away your power to rep. It happens to users who rep farm, etc etc. There's not much to explain.

You probably were repping people for no reason, or derepping people for no reason.

If you get 100 points, it will still count. The only difference is, you will not be able to give reputation to other people. The power will stay at zero, but if you gain points, they go up.

So in answer to your question, yes.

The only way to get it back is to be good on the forums and be useful. The Mods might restore your rep then.

Just don't ask, and be patient.

But be aware that it may never return.

That's what I wanted to know. I plan on still being active on the forums, so I'm hoping that eventually some good person will restore it.

That's good. Rep isn't everything, so you shouldn't let it discourage you. Just keep posting and be the best member that you can be, and hopefully it will be restored.

Don't be afraid to use the button. Repping people is fine, just be sure to use it the correct way. Don't abuse the system, and there's nothing to worry about.

yes it does say you must spread rep but thats not always the case sometimes it still allows you to rep those people even then you should limit yourself and not over use,

so dont use it too much

Pointing out downreps is largely frowned upon, as is posting them in public
