otokagure vs akatsuki

match ups:

orochimaru and kabuto vs pain and konan
sound 5 vs itachi and kisame
team guren vs sasori and deidra
jugo/suigetsu/karin vs hiidan and kakuzu

bonus: kimimaru isnt ill, oro is at the peak of a brand new body that doesnt have a KKG. the sound 5 got the benefit of training during the time skip

limitations: pain is at the same condition when he fought naruto. itachi will suicide if he summons susanoo.

the way i see it from the ground up:

suigetsu can counter hidan since his body can become intangable and his swordsmenship is probably on par if not exceeding hidan's scythe play. jugo can roflstomp kakuzu in level 2 mode(huge chakra jet blast move he did on raikage).

guren can probably handle diedra given her crystals are really strong and she can launch/attack with them like crazy while her underlings mass up and die on sasori.

kimimaru destroys kisame given he is a tai master and his KKG the other sound 4 fight off itachi in Curse mark level 2, their numbers should bail them out of genjustsu.

orochimaru edo tensi's his 3 strongest bodies(the hokages?) and manda. if konan is front lining i believe kabuto can take her, her place is probably needed next to pain to bail him out of genjustsu however.

how do others think? i wont lie im heavily biasing toward otokagure because i like orochimaru as a villian more than akatsuki

Orochimaru is far and away the best and only deserving villain in the series but there is no way in hell Oto can win this.

i think the akatsuki wins this.

Its highly likely that Kabuto and Orochimaru would get killed by just one Almighty Push. And there is 6 Pain plus Konan, Each Pain have different abilities. One of them is able to take souls. Hard to imagine Orochimaru winning even with his forbidden jutsu just cause Pain can beat most in character in narutoverse.

Itachi could take all of them with Susanoo. or Kisame could just use water dome and absorb them all dry.

Sasori's Poison would probibly be a problem for Guren and her team. Theyre not that good in evasion. or Sasori can just fly with Diedara's help and diedara could use C0 to kill them all.

We don really know how well Karin fights in a close range fight so we can assume that Hidan can kill her with his ritual. When kakuzu splits into 5 different being, it would be hard for suigetsu and jugo to fight them.

Akatsuki wins.

its a hard fight and i agree with a lot of your points being a problem for oto. oto is by far the underdog but what do you think of this hypothetical?

1. for pain i dont think the push is all that powerful as an offensive move, it did level konoha but thats only because those are rigid structures and naruto did endure one, kakashi also got pushed around in a none fatal fashion. the move where he creates a moon is powerful but i wonder if 1st hokage can fight against it with wood style or how it would fair against more than one intelligent opponets vs a dumb 8 tails naruto. numerically its 6 pains and konan vs oro kabuto and 3 zombies 5 vs 7 isnt bad or 5 vs 6 if konan is backlined. i would say the summons are equal, slightly in pain's favor

2. i believe kisame would get trolled by kimimaru. a counter to his water dome would be where he summons bones that erupt out like branching trees and then he's able to move through those like he's intangable(that thing he did before his illness took him). and given the barriers the sound 4 are capable of they might be able to resist the water in that way. if itachi susanos he'll die

3. crystal barrier > C4 but probably not on all his other explosions and C0 is suicide and would take out sasori as well. i dont think her team could take sasori as the poison and the many puppets would be too much however i do think guren > diedra.

4. karin is pretty much support. i dont think hidan could take suigetsu for the reasons i have above ending with suigetsu chopping him into peices and he would be hard pressed on jugo just because he's such a beast and he can morph his body to deflect blades, that battle ending with jugo blasting or absorbing his body. the elements of kakuzu would be a tough match up and if karin survived she would play a role in jugo/suigetsu's endurance against that.

i give oto a win vs pain. a draw-win with itachi. a lose-draw with sasori. and a win with hidan

oro and kabuto are good but against pain they don't stand a chance.

Kisame with samehada and Itachi combo is more than enough to kill sound 4 and kimimaro.

Hidan and kakuzu with his 5 elements including Lightning is worst possible match up for suigetsu, who is useless against lightning.

Sasori attacks from ground and Deidara from above. There is no way those fodders can last even a minute. Only Guren is a threat but she wont stand against two Akatsukui.

Pain can increase the power of his push, but it takes time as seen in the anime. What was used against Kakashi was a weak ST compared to what leveled Konoha. its just no one has really shown any tanking feats against a massive ST.

Intelligence is meaningless. You could be Stephen Hawking you'll still be crushed by Chibaku Tensei. Naruto isn't even present so mentioning him is pointless.

Dance of the Seedling Fern. Even provided Kisame allowed Kimimaro to survive long enough to use DotSF, there's nothing preventing Kisame from expanding the dome to cover any bones Kimimaro may create. Kimimaro suffocates, simple as that.

Might and can are two different things. You'll need some sort of proof that A their barrier can block water dome and B they can survive long enough to create a barrier in the first place.

3. crystal barrier > C4

Even if she somehow could, Guren has no reason to create an airtight barrier around herself because she doesn't know about C4. Either way, she dies, either from C4 or she suffocates.

however i do think guren > diedra

He doesn't have to. Intelligent Hard Work + Pressure Damage. Suigetsu burns to death and/or gets evaporated.
