Complaints or rep abuse in the BGs.

Well, I knew it, and most everybody else probably did. There has been rep abuse in the Battlegrounds a lot lately. People are leaving comments like "Idiot" and "Stupid," and not even leaving a name. Stop for the Battleground's sake. The BG will get deleted eventually if you don't, so please don't wait. Somebody please sticky this.

It partially has to do with the lack of debating and feeling being hurt. Even the "best" debaters use too many abbreviations and don't really elaborate on why someone wins. They are basically looking back on the show/manga and saying,well so and so did this. Well, I thought the bg's were put up for using some creativity behind your arguement.
This vacuum of creativity leads to people getting their feelings hurt or getting upset when someone posts.

Well, I second this. I have personally seen it and I think the rep abuse should be stopped. Few people have taken it to new heights by up-reping randomly just to d-rep someone they have d-reped once already.

Does rep even matter? Really, it's just internet ranking, it's pointless to worry about. :/

The people who lock stuff don't seem to think "Hey, what if they don't know about this or that character, and actually think they're equal?" Nope, it's just lock the thread. I find it embarressing that a site that has so much potential has such unproffessional and immature behavior.

And what if the reputation complainant won, will it be a 100 percent succession for that Red rep to be removed from his User CP?

if they D-rep unjustly with rude or innapropriate comments just pm a mod or admin

I actually think negative rep should be gone completely.
Because it obviously is getting abused by fake profiles etc.
Mods should delete/ban such profile sooner in my opinion.

For weird comments there is always a report post button.
Or you can put somebody on the ignore list.
Just reward if somebody posts something cool, funny or usefull.

That's all I wanna say about it. I hope this is going to be solved... someday.

Its not about up-rep or d-rep. Its about things like using your alts to d-rep people, up-reping anyone for anything so as to complete the necessary "20" reps. That kind of thing is rep abuse and it should be stopped.


About the subject:

Even though rep-points mean nothing in RL, here the system is used to reward and encourage good posts/posters and stop people form spamming in mildest way possible. Suppose someone is spamming, you can always warn and/or d-rep them and most of the times it works. These are good uses of rep and the reason the system is implemented.

So I think it should not be abused. The ability to post is for a reason. If you dont like what the other poster is saying then debate it. If someone spams D-rep them but up-reping others just to D-rep someone is not a good thing to do.

Really a few internet points doesn't matter but the opinion/repping thing really won't change, unless rep is banned itself, which I doubt will happen.

Be honest here Shika, was your last rep point not including this thread assuming you've gotten rep, a neg? Be honest now.

Personally I think you're just a little butthurt about the negs you've gotten recently or over past time. I'm not trying to sound mean but I don't want to sound "Aww are you okay?!" xD

Really you can't stop people from negging you, and even if they make a rule that says
Abuse rep and you get banned lolol, people will still do it, especially OBDers, they really don't care, if you make a stupid post then it deserves a neg, that's their belief anyway.

Rep is basicly what the forum thinks of you. If the forum doesn't like you, you get negged. In the BG, you say stupid stuff, spam, or flame, you get negged. Now complaining about being negged, and then revenge negging is the problem, not the neg in general. When someone is complaining because they triple posted and got negged, that is a problem, but then it's rep abuse when they neg you back., that's rep abuse.

As for members spreading so they can neg someone again, that gets into rep abuse and should be reported to a Higher-up.

BG's won't be deleted, the people that get negged just need to get over it, it's the freakin internet.

I don't really see why the BG should be deleted in favor of, say, disabling the rep fuinction altogether if even that. If people are butthurt enough that they want to close this place just because someone calls them an idiot or stupid then they shouldn't be on the internet at all.

I feel that revenge D-repping is the worst.
That's why, to be honest, whenever I de-rep someone for trolling, spamming, or flaming, I don't leave my name.

I give a valid reason, but I don't leave my name.

I really don't think it's fair that I should have to get negged just because someone was butthurt that I negged them for doing naughty things.
