Population growth in the developed world has projected to grow rapidly. Essentially, what factors should be taken into account when determining an appropriate rate of population growth in the future, 2020? 2030? etc.
It is truly a global issue that needs to be addressed. Especially from the first world prespective. Was in a meeting discussing global issues, at the model of UN conference, I thought it would be an interesting topic to post here. |

Have any article or something to show where you got your info from? While yes we are growing in population rather fast, we also are losing people awfully fast as well.

Environmentalists and others have made population growth the enemy because it places strains on existing economic and environmental systems. By making population the enemy they have covertly made humanity the enemy. More importantly people living in developed, and especially people living in the United States. This is how they justify limiting the population by force.

![]() However, we have no idea what the earth's "holding capacity" (for current lack of a better term) is, and thus we do not know just how severe of a "problem" this is. We also do not know for certain if our population will grow exponentially, or if it will level out on its own, and therefore we also have difficulty in calculating whether this is actually an issue at all.

It has to level out on it's own, it's like you said before, our planet has a "holding capacity." There's literally only so many beings that can exist on the earth at any given time. Once we reach that point there is no more growth, you can only decline or maintain.
And everyone needs to get of the US's back, go bug India and China. |

Population growth comes from extra amounts of sex.

Give me rep and ill give you rep back. dont talk about measking for rep since im not the only one doing it and theres nothing in the rules against it. to the people who dont know, you have to include your name when giving rep and if your rep is less than one giving rep wont matter. |

Population is an issue and there needs to be a limit to the amount of children a couple can have. There are the obvious reasons, more people means more trees will be cut down and more water needs to be drank, which means less for the animals. There is also the fact that people breath out carbon dioxide which is part of the reason why the planet is heating up. I belive that people shouldn't have anymore then two kids, some people may not like the idea for religious reasons but something needs to be done.

yea, the population is growing, but to me, it seems like people just aren't having kids these days, or very few.
reminds me from literature, johnathan swift's poem about a way to deal with the growing population problems....creepy/weird idea, A Modest Proposal
