Are ghosts real?

I'm not about to say something like "Ghosts aren't real, that's ridiculous." I find it more ridiculous to dismiss the idea of the existance of ghosts without a second thought. This is the same thing people did when they thought the Earth was flat. The same thing people did when they thought that everything revolved around the Earth. The same thing people foolishly do when they encounter something that they don't understand. You can see many posts already in this thread about people who post nothing more than that ghosts don't exist, blatantly refusing to believe anything otherwise. Although scientists usually need to prove something before they can believe it, a lack of an open mind can make someone ignorant to the world around them. Considering the hundreds, if not thousands, if not millions of things that no one can explain, I find it hard to believe that anyone can say for a fact that something isn't possible. If you had presented the idea of cell phones to human society a thousand years ago, you'd be killed for talking crazy talk. Would it be crazy talk today, where cell phones are used daily, by millions?

In terms of ghosts, perhaps ghosts are energy left behind when a person dies. Perhaps when a person dies, they become energy, and some people leave behind their energy when they die. Strong feelings at the time of death might lead to more residual energy. Who am I to say I have any clue what happens to say after they die? Unless I somehow have any way of figuring out what happens to a person after they die, I have no way of knowing if ghosts can really exist.

I'm not trying to say I think ghosts are a hoax. I'm not trying to say I think that ghosts are real. I'm trying to say I'm not going to say anything at all for a fact, because I simply don't know enough of anything to jump to a conclusion, and I admit to that.

I'm going to elaborate on what I said earlier:

My point is: Negatives cannot easily be proven, while positives require confirmation.

I need some sort of proof or confirmation before I throw my heart into a certain belief. I tend to stick with what has been confirmed, and alter my beliefs accordingly after future facts are presented. One example of this is me being an agnostic atheist.

Yes, I believe ghosts are real. I've seen things move on their own at my old house. I also kept hearing something walk down the hallway when I already knew everyone was asleep.

Well, I dont know if what I saw what a ghost necesarilly, but I did see a floating white orb by my door in the middle of the night. I know it wasnt a dream, becasue I saw it again a week later. I asked a lot of people. Some say it was a guide. Some say it was an angel. Some say it was a harmless ghost. Some say it was merely energy. I dont know, back to the main topic. Even if ghosts arent real, there is proof of SOMETHING that exsists that we cant see.

I believe in the Supernatural, I have had a few weird experiences myself not with a ghost but just really odd occurences. Two of them was a while ago when I use to go to high school but not actually at the school, I use to di the paper round, and there was this lapadoodle wandering down the other side of the street from me and I started having flashes of it (when I near a buisy T intersection) I had like four, First one was it running out on the road and it did, the next was coming back off the road and it did that to, the third was it being on the footpath near me, and it did and the last one continued repetedly, it running on the road again (my sister was there to I forgot to mention she use to do the paper round with me) At that point of the fourth flashed I automatically said to my sister 'stop it, it is going to get kill' (this was while it was still on the path near us) and sure enough it ran onto the road at that point I turned my head, I knew what was going to happen, it upset me because I am an animal lover. After it got hit by a black 4wd my sister ran on the road and took it off it put it up against the side of a fence near by a guy in a car stopped and said he saw it all he rang the SPCA to confirm the reg number for it but it was to late died near that fence.

The other, was a dream I had about a cat getting hit twice by a car, the neighbour across the street from us had an adolescent cat called "Coke" she was reasonably okay with people patting her, anyway one night we went out to do the paper round (we went out later then usual the papers took longer to fold) Coke came across the street to me to get a pat my sister was on the other side (the side where Coke came from) So she hung around a bit rolled on the grass and went to roll around in the gutter, at that moment a black car came down the road, I saw coke was scared so I patted her, though just as it was about to pass she got up and ran onto the road to get to the other side I tried to grab her I actually rememmber her tail slipping out of my hand, then a little later a white car came by and the slip stream of the car blew her back a little because she was already hurt, then a van came down the road both my sister and I shouted out to the driver and he went by slowly, after my sister ran into the house where her owner is (the house across the way from us) he came out and picked her up and took her away, though the one thing that stays in my mine is that all that time she continuously looked at me even after her master picked her up, she was still looking over his shoulder at me. Never saw her after that must have been put down. And I realized that night that, that was the dream I had before that happen.

So anyway I do believe in the Supernatural considering the things I have seen, these two above are the two which was the oddish things that happened to me but there was another way back when it was my last year of primary school but won't say, raved enough on already.

I seen something similar 'Most Haunted' they had chairs move and a paint tin falling of a shelf, with temperature drops recorded only on that tin. Using an Infra-Red Heat Senser, I actually thought about becoming a Supernatural Investigator a while back, some people must agree that there are weird things happening everyday in this world, with know explaination for it.

I think there's a good chance that most ghost sightings are the result of people wanting so badly to believe that there is something else out there, but who really knows?

Some ghosts are hoax. Some people know how to edit pictures to make them seem real ,but they can be debunked too. Ghosts can be detected on camera and video. And sometimes on voice recorders. These voices on the voice recorder are call EVPs.

Most people don't believe in ghosts until they actually experience one. So I encourage non- believers because they tend to experience paranormal activity before people who actually believe in ghosts do.

Ghosts Hunters has little to no proof. I watch Ghost Adventures. They get more proof.

There is little to no evidence against the existence of ghosts. Alot of people believe that ghosts do not exist, simply because their existence has not been scientifically proven, and the idea sounds ludicrous to a scientific mind. There have been countless cases where evidence has been presented to prove the existence of ghosts, but has turned out to be a hoax. Alot of people will invent stories and contruct fake photographs in an attempt to become well known, and others just happen to experience a funny conicidence. Because of the sheer number of hoaxes and fake photographs, many people are disinclined to believe in ghosts, but there is no evidence yet to disprove their existence.

Then again just cause nobody has disproved them doesnt mean they are real. in fact there are many theories as to why people "see" or "hear" some "thing" that they cant explain. my thought on this subject is this, you can ,say, hear some tapying noises in a house or apt, and you call it a ghost. i call it the house or ground setteling. as for the "faces" people see in smoke or in the trees. simple. do you not see a cat or a shark or different objects in the clouds. is the same concept. the trees are just you subconciously being paronoid and so your mind says you see something that normally you wouldnt.

who is TAPS? If you ask me, more people know about Ghost Adventures then this 'TAPS'. Ghost Adventures has a show on travel channel that many people watch. If TAPS are the #1 ghost investigators on earth then why haven't I heard of them?
