All of you guys who put youtube links in signatures, ths crashes Iphones and my blackberry.

Now we need to either remove the youtube BBcode (meaning I can't make my war system help videos, which is why this whole damn thing was implemented.

The other option is to remove all bbcode from signatures, meaning no links, no size tags, no pictures, no nothing.

I know you will all say "BUT IZ DIDN'T KNO IT WUD BE BAD!!"

to you I say

THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS.

40% of the sites traffic comes from nonstandard browsers (Wii, ps3, blackberry, android, iphone) You can't go ignoring 40% of the forum users.

If I could I would choose a better metric to filter by than browser.

I would like to suggest that if you REALLY want a youtube video in you siggy that you put them in a spoiler. No huge ass spoiler mess though.

Also, make the videos within the rules. I will infract automatically if the videos are not in within the confines of what can and can't be posted.

I'm confused. Are you talking just about youtube links or the bbcode [youtube]?

Either way. The way I've seen things work around here is that majority rules, and if the idea is very practical. If enough people complain, something is eventually done about it, but 40% is still a minority and I also haven't seen many people complain about this. I have an iTouch myself, and will probably at some point have these crashes happen to me, so I'm eventually sharing this problem.

A solution to this might be to disallow [youtube] bbcode / youtube links in the signatures only. Or better yet, turn off signatures.

For everyone else, I want to add. Even if these things are put into a spoiler, they will still load. The only thing a spoiler does is hide that content from your view. The browser still reads and loads it.

If enough people complain, something is eventually done about it, but 40% is still a minority and I also haven't seen many people complain about this. I have an iTouch myself, and will probably at some point have these crashes happen to me, so I'm eventually sharing this problem.

A solution to this might be to disallow [youtube] bbcode / youtube links in the signatures only. Or better yet, turn off signatures.

For everyone else, I want to add. Even if these things are put into a spoiler, they will still load. The only thing a spoiler does is hide that content from your view. The browser still reads and loads it.
I agree, removing it from signatures is a good idea.

"Or better yet, turn off signature."? Why would that be better if all that would be nessicary to fix the problem would be to disallowed Youtube links. Couldn't we still put down the address, just not the direct link.
Ex: www.youtube.com

It's better because members can individually turn off signatures if they are having problems rather than have the administrators disallow youtube from the signatures for everyone.
