My personal guess is that the reason why Kakashi wears a mask is because he looks alot like his father. As in the Kakashi Chronicles, we saw that ever since the White Fang became infamous for choosing to save his comrades over the success of the mission, Kakashi hated his father for doing that and strictly adhered to whatever rules he was supposed to follow. My guess is that he didn't want to be recognized as the White Fang, so he donned the mask as to further separate themselves.

At least that's what seems logical to me.

It's supposedly the Hatake Clan nindo--don't ask me how I know this, I know I'm a nerd--to never reveal their identity to anyone because if someone knew and then went rogue, that clan member would become a target.

Even though it's kinda' stupid now because I mean, c'mon, now all people have to say is "The guy with the mask and the silver hair!" and everyone automatically knows who they're talking about

cause its awsome and i dont think he is ugly cause that one episode when they're trying to get off his mask...the cooks at the ramen shop have their hearts in their eyes and are in aw from looking at kakashis face

The sharingan can not be deactivated. i guess he keeps the mask on to preserve chakra/and prob cover up his scar on his eye?

i think that sometimes his headband cannot cover his eye so he uses his mask to cover his eye. I dont think there is anything wrong with his face other than the scar that he has on his eye
