I believe Neji will win,, extremely fast and dangerous in close combat

Shikamaru's intelligence has not failed him in any battle.

Neji getting in close-range is not smart, considering he'd be caught in the Shadow Bind.

Shikamaru will then be free to what whatever he wants to do with him. Throwing kunai and using the landscape will seriously hurt Neji.

remember the Temari vs. Shika battle? all Neji has to do is avoid Shika for awhile. besides, Neji has a huge amount of chakra and is able to use the byakugan for a LONG time

true.. i think it depends on the situation actually.. especially for shikimaru.. it has to be somewhere that can cast shadow.. but also Neji's Air Palm aint bad..

Yeah , but Neji can't hurt Shikamaru unless he get's in close range and then shikamaru will trap him in Shadow Bind.

heres my reason form other thread
I say shikumaru cuz of his shadow possesion jutsu, then reaches in his pocket and throws a kunai, since neji dont got pockets it wont affect shikumaru

WRONG Shika has a small chakra system in him, meaning Neji will wear him out while Shika tries to capture him at long range (Neji is also smart)

neji is close range but if shikamaru's shadow has chakra flow wouldn't neji be able to send his gentle fist through the shadow into shikamaru like neji did during the sound ninja 4 fight when he sent his gentle fist thru the web and arrow and disabled kidomaru's chakra flow....neji would win hands down

shadow would simply slip under something like that. however, the weather for shadows has always been perfect. if you change the weather to something darker, that covers the sun, there would be no shadows and therefor Shika would be screwed! (just my opinion)

AND yes i agree with the fact that it could be possible for Neji to send chakra through the shadows. "Could be possible i don't know "

when theres no sun then its all shadow so its better for shikamaru

Neji could send his chakra on the shadow, and let it 'ride' the shadow to shika. but even so, that is extremely dangerous: you have one chance and if you mess up you will be caught.
