Tags' characters extension

I should know that the tags can take up to 25 characters. Whenever I want to type in a long tag, it doesn't let me because it was too long. I'd like to say is extending the tags' characters to 50 or 55. I hope it becomes reality.

What kind of tags do you want to make? Tags are meant to connect threads with related subjects, so I don't see how you could make such a long thread expecting others to have a similar subject.

Tags should be short and sweet. a 20 character long tag is silly. What on earth would properly need a tag that long.

Ya, a tag that long would be more accurately a phrase, and at that point you'd be better off putting it in a post within the thread.

The only relevant things I can think of that are that long are Latin names for species classification, which is more than a ways off from the site's content
