Hate threads: Innocent venting or spreading negativity?

Okay, this has been something on my mind for a while and I want some honest opinions.

Are hate threads just another way for people of common interest to discuss said interests, or is it encouraging people's negative behavior?

Discuss if you will.

EDIT: Please ignore the first post. This was a different thread when I made it, but it sat for eight straight hours without a single post so I changed it.

I hated the movies, but my sister told me to read the books. So one day, I did, and I liked it. But, when she (my sis) dragged me to go watch it, I hated it, especially because Edward looks worse than a vampire should normally look.

Hmm... I should make a Wooster's Hate Thread. I will only hate the best things in life. Wait...that's not right...

Well, it will hate with a tongue-in-cheek attitude, that's the ONLY way to hate. Why else waste one's energy hating things?

Depends on who/what they are directed at. They are a waste of breath if the opinion they are putting forth is widespread and already out on the table. Now if I were to make a thread about something in my personal life that is irritating me, it's pure venting.
