Think about it, he's just as determined as Naruto, and he's been through the same situation, she'd admire him and give him that feeling of being needed by someone. There are just so many reasons why they would fit together.

(Well, cuz of the whole being hated, feared, and being alone for so long.) I just think that if someone did end up in love with Gaara, he wouldnt really care what they looked like or what gender they are. As long as they loved him.
